I’ll have a bitter please...It’s the Everton thread

I often wonder whether appointing football managers is actually just an elaborate game of musical chairs.

Presumably, when the music stops, if you don’t have a seat you head to Goodison Park.

There needs to be a rule introduced for the number of managers a club can appoint within a certain timeframe because it’s actually farcical the number of managers a lot of the clubs in this league go through.

Totally agree with that. It’s a brilliant suggestion.

If you think about it, it’s a form of cheating. A rich club sliding towards the relegation places can spend twenty million sacking their manager and getting the best available one in, whereas a poorer club can’t.

Rooney actually did a commendable job under impossible circumstances at Derby. If they did get relegated he wouldn’t be the worst idea for them.

They do know that Martinez just took over Portugal, right?

:joy:

Yeah Rooney wouldn’t be a bad choice seems to be a good version of Lampard.

Hopefully they don’t appoint Dyche, it’s rarely favourites mind. Hopefully they appoint someone before Arsenal so the first game is them.

Was thinking this myself.

Ridiculous PP have Bielsa 16/1…he’s 3/1 on skybet and 7/2 on betfred.

Bielsa would be fucking hilarious. Please god I hope they do this.

Can you imagine Bielsa’s football at Goodison, with those players. Can you imagine the Everton fans watching it?

It would be glorious!

Some of those names are pretty wild.

No chance in the world I’d give it to Rooney now, that’s much closer to another Lampard.

Their bloody survival in the PL is at high risk, they literally need safety first now. If the fans are bored of that, who cares (from the club’s perspective), the priority must be to stay up no matter how. So, only results matter now.

The step when Everton made one of the mistakes at times was to think too soon that they’re ready for something fancy. I mean, not always, because they had decent top 10 finishes under Koeman, Allardyce, Silva, etc.

The recruitment has been lacking and not in sync enough with all parts of the football side of club. They need a bit of result stability first, move to that new ground and then perhaps try and build something more long term, fancier on the eye, more ambitious.

Unfortunately I think Dyche will be appointed he done very well on a small budget at Burnley and he would be good for them.
Fingers crossed they get it wrong again.:pray:

Dyche is the right choice for them currently, I don’t think any other choice on there will be a good idea.

Also Dyche Out has a certain ring to it…

It’s Everton so whoever they go for will be gone within a year.

But not as good a ring as “Fucking Boo!”

If it was me in charge of Everton (and not trying to sabotage things like I would in reality) then I would…

Recall Jarrad Branthwaite from PSV. 20 yesr old defender should be cornerstone of their team moving forwards. Give Ellis Simms regular game time, he was good on loan at Sunderland and Everton have no other real options. Bin off the 433 and go to 3 CBs.

Pickford
Branthwaite Tarkowski Mina
Patterson Onana Doucoure Mykolenko
McNeil Simms Gordon

On paper that actually looks pretty well balanced with a few young players developing in there too.

Still not sure how they score enough goals to survive.

I wonder if they regret sacking Rafa…

Didn’t he have a better record with an injury-ravaged squad than Lampard did after taking over?

It is Everton you’re talking about here, their vendetta and bitterness far exceeds their show of any remorse or regret.

At this point I’d be surprised if Lampard hasn’t succeeded John Carver as the worst manager in the Prem era.

“Frankie Boy doesn’t have the tools for the job… He is clueless” :0)
You have just got to love the way the fans are hollowing out the club from the inside.!
I apologise in advance that the clip is from Talkshite… Personally hate that station

You don’t even need to play the video, just look at the smugness of that horribly failed “premier league” footballer on the left.
