Shanks had only managed in the second and third tiers and had no success at all. He was a risk but our directors stuck with him for the 3 seasons before he got us up.
he’s a gonner…
hope this doesnt mean our fun ends!
Didn’t they finish third in the first two of those seasons though before winning the division? I’m not why his situation is being compared with Lampard whose Everton side has been pretty poor under Lampard.
Maybe City will fire Pep and give him the job
It helps when you have a personality.
Everton have to many foreigners in their squad. Dyche doesn’t like that
Expecting it to be Fat Sam.
Won’t be Sam, they’ve been there before.
I wasn’t comparing Shanks or Fergie to Lampard in particular but just the way managers are discarded now without giving them at least 2 or 3 seasons to change things. In the age of social media you are only as good as the last result….those two would not have survived in this era.
What’s that, Dr. Evil?
Saw a rumor that Dyche already told them no
But it still isn’t an accurate statement. Lampard has little to show to on his footballing CV that suggests he would be worth keeping on. He largely got the job because of his name. There has been no progress or sign of the club moving forward under him yet he has spent a lot of money.
That’s before we consider what might be going on behind the scenes to influence any decision to get rid of him.
There are managers out there that might be better examples of not being given sufficient time.
Shanks and lamplard in the same sentence.
Bugger, bugger, bugger
Bill Shankly was an infinitely better manager than Frank Lampard will ever be.
Damn if this is right then he got one more point than Rafa did last season for the same number of games. So much for my narrative…
Damn. I’ve always respected what Dyche managed to do at Burnley but he’s only gone a step higher in my opinion of him now.
Bill Shankly had brought through a lot of quality young players at Huddersfield including Dennis Law and Ray Wilson. He left because their board wanted to sell their best players and Liverpool were at pretty much the same level, middling in Division 2.
Lampard just isn’t a manager at any level. Telling players to have passion and play for the badge and all the other clichés isn’t going to cut it.
Everton should go for the only man that can save them: Mike Bassett playing four, four, fucking two!
How the hell are the two even mentioned in the same paragraph?
Nessie Shankly was a better manager than Frank Lampard is.
In fact the Loch Nessie is.
