I had a similar, but probably much worse, experience with that stuff in New Orleans many years ago. I end up in hospital in a lot of pain. Have also never touched it since.
No shite beers at all. I do drink Cooper’s extra stout on occasion but usually prefer a Barossa Shiraz or Reisling. As is common in Adelaide we have a (not yet full) cellar so have been lots of random Coonawarra CabSavs and buying a few cases whenever we both like something.
Haha. You wouldn’t survive in 'straya. If you go around insisting on only calling it Cabernet Sauvignon you’ll struggle to be taken seriously by most sommeliers and winebrokers. You’d be adding miserable to the cynical moniker…
Where is that guy, I miss him.
Everton’s thread turning into the booze thread. Love it.
Jeez that’s a blast from the past.
What is he up to these days?
Whenever I’m on a night out in Liverpool, I do think of Chronic sometimes and wonder is he somewhere around here.
Cheeky little 7UP in the background there, I rate it.
I wouldn’t take any sommelier or wine broker who called it “CabSav” seriously, so it works both ways!
I was a bartender in Mildura, and they don’t even drink Foster’s there!
I’d do some pretty shady stuff to get my hands on the Coonawarra Trio, especially the Pyrus. I had a source for '99 bottles up to a decade ago, but they’re not longer imported.
What the hell happened between being with Poch at Spurs and one of the most wanted players in Europe to being shunted to one side by Mourinho? It can’t all be at Mourinho’s feet can it?
And Everton bought him. Please don’t stop entertaining
I don’t get this in the slightest.
It’s not built and it’s lower than Anfield’s attendance, I don’t even believe it has a transport link yet set up.
Suppose it’s something they can brag about.
Anfield was never in the running, due to different factors.
By the way, on that topic, what’s up with Croke Park? I remember Croatia playing there once and it was one of the best atmospheres I’ve heard, albeit on TV.
It’s to do with the length of the pitch. Anfield and Old Trafford aren’t standard length so can’t be used. Although from what the Mancs are saying, Old Trafford will have fallen down by then anyway.
Ah odd that it was listed as one of the original 14 though if the pitch is an issue.
There’s always been a bit of an issue historically about hosting “foreign” sports there but I thought they were quite cool about it these days.
I believe we have to get a waiver every season from UEFA to play in the Champions League because of the pitch length.
Was it? I may have got that wrong, then.
Klopp probably lobbied to keep the pitch as it is (shorter) for his pressing game.
No you are correct. It’s the same reason Anfield hasn’t hosted a CL or EL final, the pitch length doesn’t meet UEFA regulations.
