It really depends on their success but the problem is it was still quite difficult to get tickets even when we were crap, the last time I’ve seen us was the 4-3 City game and that was one of those lucky refresh jobs at midday.
And our fan base is far bigger, I just see it as a very easy one to tick off the 92 ground list. There will be a fair bit of availability for years, it just about makes sense in London but City have shown even with their success outside of London it’s hard without a fan base to fill these new builds.
As I said earlier I wouldn’t build anything near the coast unless it’s a short term move, Goodison has seen them ok for 140 years, they would if nothing changes be lucky to get 70 out of this.
Moshiri just protecting his money by building a big shiny new stadium…
In a few years it will be easier to sell when something looks new or nearly new compared to that hovel they play in at the moment… It certainly won’t be the success record of the playing side that will improve his investment.!
Isn’t £500 million for a 52,888 seat stadium a little on the low side? I should have thought that £650 million would be closer to the mark.
Still, I’m looking forward to the day they announce the new ticket pricing structure and the blueshites realising that season ticket prices will have to double if they are to pay for the thing this side of hell freezing over.
If the Blushite don’t get some ball playing defenders before they move to the new stadium…
It will cost them a fortune in lost footballs when they go floating away in the River Mersey after each game.
The projected deadline, 2023, sounds rather ambitious.
£500 millions. Their commercial revenue is modest, Champions League pot is empty, so without a lucrative (in the region of dubious) naming right it can flatten them.
