I’ll have a bitter please...It’s the Everton thread

And if you are intending to say that the BMD is further away from the airport than Anfield is. It should be another matter worth considering

Be interesting to see if we continue to attract concerts. If we do it will probably be down to the issues with their stadium.

The distance is similar, but BMD takes you right through the city centre. Possibly that is better, because you would have fan zones in the city centre. I’m just curious as to the logistics of it.

How many people would just fly in for a single game though? I’d imagine that the teams and staff would take a more direct route, but a good thing for the city would be fans spending more time in there.

Not sure what your point is? It is the size of the actual playing area (the Anfield pitch) that is the issue. It isn’t big/long enough.

Anfield’s pitch is 101 meters long, which is about four meters shorter than the standard 105 meters required by UEFA and FIFA to host finals and internationals.

It does have a 19th century footprint after all. Blame Everton, they built it

A surprising number do. It’s definitely an opportunity for the city to get some tourist business off the back of it. I suppose hotel prices are the limiting factor there.

If it’s good enough to play CL semifinals in , how is it not enough for the finals ?

Just saying that the rules are shit considering all other rules that UEFA ignore

It’s an arbitrary rule. The idea is to encourage new stadia to be a standard size, but that does rule out some impressive legacy stadiums.

I think a bigger playing area at Anfield would help us as it would make the low block that bit harder to maintain…

I think only two clubs in the Premier League have a pitch smaller than ours this season.

Forest have the largest. 7455 sq metres as opposed to ours at 6868.

It’s not like a 4 meters difference in playing area from the Fifa regulated standards is going to make a heck of a difference.

That’s like 2m on either side of the half way line.

I thought low block teams weren’t the issue anymore…

I’m sure I read that being the reason why we were so all over Wolves in the first half.

Sky:

Jarrad Branthwaite would be open to discussing a new contract with Everton.

Everton would be open to a deal to re-sign Brazil striker Richarlison, 27, from Tottenham . (TBR Football)

From their perspective, why not. He was a quality player for them. The question would be more for him, what he wants to do.

£350million re-financed…they are never ever going to get their money back…I can see season ticket and ticket prices going up…

Was hearing mumblings about Moshiri putting his own money in for the stadium. Guess I heard wrong

Nah he meant he expected the council to do so.
