I’ll have a bitter please...It’s the Everton thread

Yeah, but what can you do, I’m sure following Carlo wasn’t the only factor to join Everton. Their project goes on, as much as we can joke and laugh about Carlo leaving. He’ll probably remain there and remain a first XI player, I don’t think he’s for a much higher level than that. He’s also 30-years old. Sure, it will be interesting to see who is their new manager now.

Of course Carlo wasn’t the only factor, but he’s a big one. As for what he can do - he can’t do anything but be disappointed that his gaffer walked (point of my post in the first place) and he will have to accept the fact that he’s still a footballer playing in the PL and earning decent money.

This gets better

He’s in a good place, I think he lost a little bit his place at Napoli before he left. To be at Everton on a contract until he’s 33 should be absolutely fine. Carlo suddenly leaving was always a possibility.

Ancellotti also had a contract with the club, it didn’t prevent him from leaving.

We all know managers are dealt with very differently to players.

Heard Ancelotti had a clause that if a particular club came calling, that he could cancel his contract and leave… Only Real Madrid DID NOT come calling, HE went calling to them announcing his availability!
Not sure FSG would allow such a clause in any managerial appointment of LFC… So the Blueshite have only got themselves to blame eh :joy:

I don’t think that would make much difference. If you have a manager who doesn’t really want to be at the club then it is probably for the best that they leave.

That’s right…
But my point being that Ancelotti had not only given himself a ‘get out of jail’ card by inserting that clause, his long term commitment to the cause should also have been questioned at the outset… hence, why appoint him in the first place.!

This is exactly where I am as well.

It probably was questioned, but the club where just happy to land him for even just a season. It raised eyebrows at the time because he isn’t a builder.

Remember when Bolasie was better than Mane? Good times.

It raised one of Ancellotti’s eyebrows also!

I remember in one of his first games for Everton in the summer of 2014 he played a pass that went about 30 yards, to feet, between the lines, along the ground and their fan based positively creamed themselves having not seen the like of it at Goodison since Nicky Barmby accidentally shinned one to Duncan Ferguson in 1996.

Besic went on to play more games for Bosnia and Herzegovina (38) in the following 7 years than for Everton (37).

Is Carlo likely to be posting anything interesting to players on insta?! Too much reading into this shit

Yep Pirlo would be perfect. Not sure he’d last long enough to relegate them all by himself but he’d give it a red hot go. Would be great hearing evertonians translating and quoting his pretentious ‘my philosophy’ thesis too.

Gentleman?

Didn’t he defend his players after the assaults in the first derby, the guys a knob.

Some Evertonian 1966 cup final- related child neglect leads to serious incident in doorway with a dubious American with a track record of peddling marijuana to young Scousers (2 of whom were also at Wembley)

Gentlemans in Italy? Where multiple coaches/players change numerous big clubs like whores?
