With all of these moves getting leaked and briefed too, should this (hopefully) not happen, every team out there know exactly how to play us. Not only that, what is Hughes’ obsession with waiting until the end of windows to go for players? 3 Summers where he has left it till the end to go for the positions we need

Zubimendi, went too late and was clearly gazzumped by Arsenal in the end. Guehi, went too late where Palace couldn’t get a replacement. And now, our RW position.

It’s been such a disaster this window.

If we get Sarr, Minteh deal is off. It sounds like Liverpool changed their target to Sarr after being rebuffed for Minteh with ridiculous asking prices.

The question is will we still pursue Mbaye or does signing Sarr mean the younger winger also goes off the menu?

That’s not how either of these deals went down. For starters we made a move for Zubimendi after Arsenal’s own attempt broke down. They went back for him the following year after the deal he was promised by his club to get him to stay in Spain didn’t materialise.

As for Guehi, our bid was made earlier in the window, it was the decision to accept it by Palace that took time but they already knew he was likely to be out the door and had been trying to get replacements lined up all summer but were having difficulties because the DoF had left just before the start of the summer window. They asked to loan Gomez but we declined. They lined up the lad from Brighton who then went to west ham.

Sarr for ÂŁ50m instead of injured minteh for ÂŁ80 is better business imo. As this is a stop gap while Munoz and whoever we target next summer window at RW adapt and gain PL experience.

Should Barcola deal fall through we still have Gakpo…

Gakpo/ Rio and Sarr/Munoz on the wings.

If we were to bring in Sarr to eesentially be our Trossard - a veteran forward who adds a bit of goalscoring threat to the squad both from the bench or starting - then I think it could be a great move. If he’s bought to be one of our main three forwards I think that’s a bit of an issue.
