Joe GOMEZ: 2020/21

Maybe it’s just me but he looks apprehensive, almost like he’s expecting it to go again at any moment.

Expected this because of his long term injury history.

Even if he did come back earlier or just in time, I feel he might have missed the Euro’s with England anyway. So hopefully he has a good summer break and we have him fit and well for the start of next season.

If it was Man City they’d be starting tomorrow

I remember I saw Sinama-Pongolle’s (I’m pretty sure it was him) once, that was one of the worst I’ve seen. I have a smaller, 7-stiches one just below my left knee. Don’t even feel anything around that area!

Posting this here, too.

Good, being fit for pre-season is what counts, not those internationals.

Think that’s still far too optimistic. I wouldn’t be surprised if we are a quite a way into the season before either are ready to play regularly and maybe quite a bit further in before they’re up to their pre-injury level.

The time of injury van Dijk has takes about 9 mounts, so if pre-season starts in July he will be fine.

If all goes well, yes, he would be ‘fit’ for pre-season, but looking at recovery times for similar injuries it can take up to 12 months from their return before they get back to pre-injury sort of level.

My hope, is that both miss the Euros, get a solid pre-season providing they don’t suffer any major set backs in Jan/Feb 2022 is when they will be truely back to their best

I would gladly accept that rather than having our players getting bruised after we carefully nurture them back to health.

He is a strong lad being on schedule, I’m normally not a half-full kind of guy, but in this case, I am. :grinning:

100% agree for Joe, I think VVD will be fine.

Looking at how thin his leg muscles have become he looks far off.

That exercise looks painful, what are you on about?
