Joe GOMEZ: 2020/21

Not sure what I’ve done wrong.

The title of that clip says ‘Getting close’ but looking at much muscle mass he has lost in his thighs, calf’s and hamstrings (which is normal after such an injury) it doesn’t look like he is close.

I wasn’t even talking about how is performing that exercise.

Exercise is called ‚Nordic hamstring curls’ - but an expert like you probably knows that

Looks like very advanced rehabilitation to me, I’ll ask my little sis, which means your correct he is not close as close would mean what? 2 weeks before full training, he’s not ready for that!
I don’t know what it is about me and my expertise at the moment but you know on the internet I’m an expert in everything, anything and nothing that I want to be.

His glutes are popping nicely though.

Can tell we don’t play till Monday when people are going on about glutes and calfs.

The amount of space those 2 covered was unreal… All on the front foot… He bails Trent out so many times as well…

Joe is rather underrated IMO. Maybe, it’s because he had so many injuries.

Darker skin has a terrible time of concealing scars.

Still don’t get it how he even got injured and this badly. Maybe I missed it, but there hasn’t been any info provided from what I recollect.

Took me 2 seconds!

I still find the “there was nobody around him” claim so strange, even suspicious. Especially with how often it gets stated over and over in one statement.

This I recollect, but how come the scar happened with the pass. And as ARD mentioned, no one was around him - all of this doesn’t make sense resulting into such a long lay off. Hence, was checking if there were any more clarifications.

The thing is it’s possible. We can speculate that he had had collisions with players before ‘the incident’ and one or more of these caused the weakness which became apparent at the moment noone was around him. The thing is it’s speculation what is being told is what was seen.
We could even speculate that the weakness occured on a completely different occassion. What is being told is when it ‘popped’.
I don’t have any problem with that type of scenario and even think it’s probable.

As well as my ‘explaination’ above I am also aware that Pickford might well have been there and is being protected by the England setup as if it was him I think his life might be endangered.

I don’t think there is anything nefarious about the injury, other than how nasty it can be. You really should think of this as closer to a muscle injury than a knee injury, and that’s the sort of thing that can just pop at any time. Possibly, like Flob was implying, as a result of some low grade pre-existing trauma.

Has anyone given a hint of a date as to his expected return ?

Nope, nothing concrete since the out for the season declaration.
