My hope is that itâs âprecautionâ. Hendo is one of 4 or 5 England players returning early. I would like to think Southgate is doing it out of respect for those players upcoming workload.
Possibly just wishful thinking.

These qualifiers seem pointless anyhow. Usually they are interesting due to the nature of it being the final ones but it seems half the teams already have a play off spot.

Just learned that the second time I was at Anfield and first as a proper fan was the first game that Henderson skippered â a damp squib of a 1-0 win over Stoke in 2014. The first 75 minutes were pretty dire but the result made up for it, and made the 3,260 miles traveled unbelievable instead of just great (and Iâd have been happy with great!).
(Incidentally, my first game at Anfield â on a trip to England as a 12-year-old â was 17 years ago yesterday when Baros scored a hat-trick against Palace in a 3-2 win, including an injury-time penalty winner in front of the Kop. Took me ~2 years to get hooked, but the rest is history.)
