If Hendo had always taken comments from people who do not matter on board, he would have left Liverpool long ago and believed that he was not good enough and not become the captain of the greatest club in the world and won everything there is to win in club football.

Why do you think we were so bad last year? The aim was always to finish in the Europa League spots 
No doubt, he can be replaced many times over if playing ability was the only criteria. Managers like Klopp have plenty of chances to do that but did not. That speaks alot about Hendo as much as Klopp knowing what a leader is.

- Hendo still underated by many. He was just lucky I suppose to have won everything.
- A 32 soon to be 33 year old should have his place under threat by young up and coming players.

There was a significant drop in form but we’re not winning shit without Hendo in the squad.

Is the club moving into another situation now where when Stevie was on his way out we needed someone to take over the captains armband and Hendo stepped up to the plate. Are we now in this situation looking at the squad and saying Hendo and maybe VVD are captain and vice but whose stepping up to take that armband from them and move us forward the way hendo did and made it his own.
Be interesting to see this season what the 2 new lads in midfield are like and if anyone has it in them for that armband…
Hendo did himself and the club proud after taking it on, lets hope the same can be done again by his successor in the next year or 2
