This is why I don’t think Real get Bellingham…
The fact that they’re constantly in talks is probably no news.
Talked about it yesterday and wondered what will be Real’s priority next summer.
A CB like Gvardiol, a midfielder like Bellingham or a forward like Mbappe. Plus, could they afford two of that last in the same window?
If they get Mbappe, the interesting question is what happens on the pitch, with Vinicius having Mbappe’s favourite side and Mbappe currently being a different type of player than Benzema centrally.
Dont they get several hundred million a year from that legacy football deal they signed?
Have no idea what’s their budget for next summer. They’re also finishing redeveloping the Bernabeu.
Real are also weird sometimes, by next summer you could have a new coach and then who knows what their transfer wishes might be. Even if that is not always down to the head coach.
But the 3 mentioned positions is most probably where I see them thinking “let’s go for this or that player”. Or two.

From the article in the Mirror which claims that Bellingham prefers a move to RM rather than to a PL club:
A report in Diario AS has reiterated that the Spanish capital remains Bellingham’s preference and his entourage have already indicated as such to Real Madrid. However, there has been no dialogue between any club and Dortmund regarding a future transfer.

I know we can offer him the #8 shirt, a lenghty contract initially, potentially the armband one day…
But even the last bit, he’s the one who needs to get to those levels. We can’t realistically offer him anything more than that.

I read it as “for the rest of his career”, and not for a few years as a step before another club (all the while becoming an icon for the club in the same position as Stevie G). I think it’s targeting Bellinghams’ Liverpool support and things they may be sensitive with.
