I don’t actually think Saka did much wrong with the Kostas injury tbh, I didn’t make much of it at the time and didn’t after. Unfortunate Kostas landed on his shoulder because 99/100 times a players comes away from that unharmed.
Watching the replay it looks like the fall is caused when Saka gets his right leg in front of Kostas left knee.
It’s not a blatant push/barge, there’s certainly no intent to injure another player and if you remember back to Trent on Havertz in the box, very similar.

To lose our two LB’s due to shoulder and collarbone injuries in space of, what, a couple of weeks, is very unlucky. It’s a position where I was (and still am) completely happy with what we have.
And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the challenge. It’s just unlucky, that’s it.
Hopefully we can manage for a few games before Robbo comes back.
Looks like he’s had surgery now. He’s shared a Insta story where you can clearly see bandaging on his shoulder/collarbone area.
Not sure why he’s wearing Darwin’s old training top but there you go

Probably because he wears some kind of protection for his shoulder and that’s why he needs a bigger jacket.
16 assists in 80 games for the club, 1 in 5.
Solid.

Greece will play Kazakhstan in the SF of Euro 24 play-off on March 21. The winner will face the winner between Georgia and Luxemburg on March 26. It’s been 10 years since Greece played in an international tournament. Best wishes for our dear Tsimikas, YNWA.

Tsimi with two assists tonight for Greece.

Has Klopp black-listed him for misconduct? We blatantly need width and left flank, but keep persisting with Gomez shenanigans and rushing Robbo after injuries. Does anyone have any info/insight?

Good question. He hasn’t been that bad when he’s played.
Gomez shenanigans = largely being excellent

Not in the last month for sure. And still - question is about Tsimikas and dedicated left back position.
Another game we’ve had to salvage using the bench…subbing in fullbacks who offer natural width. I get Gomez has been a revelation this season but him being used at LB should only be as a last resource. This obsession to have 1, if not sometimes both fullbacks coming inside and sticking the likes of Grav and Szobo wide makes little sense to me.
I was convinced that Tsimikas would start against Sheffield, I don’t know why Klopp is giving him the cold shoulder lately. He was playing up to a decent level until he got injured - and his injury looked like it would rule him out for majority of the season. He made a speedy recovery and then… Nothing! I find it strange that Klopp prefers an out-of-form Robertson and out-of-position Gomez to him, epecially taking into account just how many minutes Gomez is playing lately.

Agreed. There’s something weird going on. He’s always had a good attitude and seems to get on with all his teammates.
Don’t get it.
I feel like I’m the only one who’s thinking it’s about how Jürgen seems to want Gomez on the pitch as much as he can, whether left, right, or middle.

I’d be more interested to see what happens in the coming weeks. You can see why Jürgen felt that it would be better to give Robertson some game time ahead of the twice-a-week schedule, and with the way Gomez has been playing it seems it’s more of a competition between Tsimikas and Bradley as to who gets to play, and of late it’s been the latter who’s had better form. I wouldn’t get too worried, as we probably will see him get late minutes again, as he used to.
I think we are worrying too much. Maybe, Tsimikas isn’t playing not because there’s any issue with him, but because Gomez offers more. Being able to play RB, CB, LB, and DM, it isn’t surprising that he is one of the first names on the team-sheet. Also, while Tsimikas can be very useful in attack, he can be erratic in defending.

But we lose something going forward with JG on the left. That Gakpo goal doesn’t happen with a right footer at lb.
