La Liga discussion

That was tight

Another race going to the wires.

Atletico plays relegation candidate Valladolid.

Real plays Villarreal who may have one eye on the Europa League final.

Emery having a nice end of the season with his side.

Allegri is in many ways very similar to Zizzou as a manager. He has no real philosophy about how the game should be played and so just adapts to the players he has. It’s the sort of appointment that would provide some continuity if ZZ felt he wanted to leave, but if the move is being made because they’re pushing him out then Im not sure Allegri makes much sense.

Fundamentally they need to update the squad.

Still has two must win games :sunglasses:

Both Madrid sides down by 1-0

Trippier looked injured at the end of the half

Edit: He came out slightly limping for the second half

He’s been playing like he’s injured for years.

seems like it, He’s bringing Felix on and switch to the 4411

Suarez you wonderful beast  :star_struck: Atletico 2-1

Meanwhile, Villarreal GK got saved by Benzema

Was it gonna be anyone else

Real Madrid won 2-1 but the other Madrid wins the League.

Very happy for Atletico and, in a very twisted way, very happy for Suarez. Written off by Barcelona but pivotal to Atletico’s success.

ZZ must have some philosophy, he’s won plenty of trophies in his short career at Real.
To be fair, his big signing Hazard has been injured mostly. He was trying to phase out Modric earlier in the season but that wasn’t working out.
Glad Athletico won la liga but I can’t stand Simone in the same way I can’t stand Ramos.

They’ll do anything to win, fouling, cheating, assaulting which I could almost get on board with if they weren’t such massive hypocrites when the shoe is on the other foot.

Regardless, it was a terrible decision for Barca to let Suárez go. He’s twice the player Griezmann is. Dembelé can’t be relied on. Suárez and Messi is still a handful.

My God, Atletico is a crap team. They do make most of any tournaments through their thuggish football, but this team rather average in terms of quality or talent.

It also speaks volumes about the state of Spanish League.

Easy to say. I appreciate it isnt just hindsight because many people said it was crazy at the time, but the reality is they could not afford to keep him and everyone else. Something had to give.I think the issue is they were dumb to let him go to a competitor.
