According to Transfermarkt, Real Madrid has had a negative net spend over the last 11 transfer windows, including this one. Their net spend over the past three windows has been -Ā£162 million.

They did spend big in 2019 - 319m to 120m in sales (probably mopping up much of the surplus from 2017/18 when they raised 120m in sales and spent just over 35m) which I guess the last couple of seasons is probably having to make up for as both Hazard and Jovic have probably not justified their fees yet.
There appears to be a notable change in their spending habits from about 2015 onwards. First half of the decade there is significant spending on new players. Second half is much more balanced.
Makes you wonder how accurate/transparent their reporting has been to UEFA? Imagine what a heavy fall that would be from their lofty horse criticising the likes of City and PSG?!
His advisors must be ecstatic!

You look at those Emerson (I mentioned in the Spurs thread him going public about being angry at Barca for forcing him to move to them against his will) and Pjanic deals, ones that neither player wanted and in the case Pjanic cost him a lot of money, it really should be driving home to players that moving to Barca is not the dream move they imagine it to be. I really hope players take notice

NEW: Nabil Fekir has opened up once again on his failed move to Liverpool back in 2018, blaming his agent for the transfer not going through:
āI had a problem with my agent, my adviser. It was the agent responsible for the deal not going through.ā
Fekir: āIt was a dark moment. I saw plenty of things which werenāt true. It was said the knee stopped me going to Liverpool but that wasnāt true. I went to Clairefontaine [Franceās football centre near Paris], and they did all the proof [medical] and the knee was fine.ā
Fekir: āOf course I was disappointed not to go to Liverpool, very disappointed because Liverpool are a great club. I met the coach, JĆ¼rgen Klopp, and it went well. After meeting him, I wanted to join Liverpool even more.ā
