They will make 2-3 signings but I do think Brendan is off midseason. He was talking about wanting a whole-scale change of players and Leicester don’t seem to be giving him that (within reason too)
They are fine in terms of numbers to be fair. We’ll see what happens if Tielemans goes. And maybe a few others who are nearing the end of their contracts.
My Leicester friend thinks that’s the catalyst for one or two signings.
And the losing WAGATHA CHRISTIE… “It’s……… Rebekah Vardy’”
For a club that is usually praised for being run so well, their summer activity has been strange. It’s popularly understood that a relative lack of strength played a role in the late season form that saw them miss the CL. Now Vardy is a year older and all the whispers are of interest in other clubs buying their best players.
Over under on how long until Rodgers complains about not having the tools? Can he get through the end of September?
Looks like Schmeichel is on his way out and if Newcastle really want Maddison they will get him.
I’m curious whether Leicester have hit some FFP wall, or whether the owner has put spending on pause due to his own situation in Thailand. Think a lot of his families money is tied up in tourism - the airport shops and hotels.
I’ll ask my foxes friend and see what he says.
Whats happening RE: Tielemans?
He staying…leaving…certainly not signing on is he…
I think the travel and hospitality industry is in a better condition since COVID.
Maybe the owner doesn’t want to invest without European competition. Besides, Rodgers barely used the players signed last summer.
Ploughed loads of money into the new training ground which has had an impact on their spending I think. Interestingly, Rodgers has taken it upon himself to decide the on site golf course is for players use only and I’m not sure that’s gone down well with the staff.
There’s also a plan to expand the stadium and add a hotel and fan park. Decisions had been expected on that before now but things seem to keep being delayed with it.
They budget for one big sale a year. That had been expected to be Tielemans with maybe one other being allowed to go if they got a silly (and I mean silly like paying £85m for Maguire) bid. Tielemans market doesn’t appear to be there but someone, probably Arsenal, will try and get him on the cheap as we near the end of the window.
Madison I could see them letting go if they get north of £50m that they can then reinvest but then they’d probably shut down any chance of Tielemans leaving. Would need a huge bid for Fofana for him to leave given their defensive shortcomings but Chelsea seem to be desperately chucking offers out all over the place so never say never.
Weird, though. Not even a single, on-the-cheap signing.
So the great Kasper is on his way to Nice for €1m?
Wonder if Danny Ward gets the starting spot now, with the grand total of 129 senior appearances being 29-years old. Or get a new GK in.
1m!?!?
What’s the point in that, just keep the lad.
He’s a whiny twat, significantly worse than anyone in out prematch threads. In the past there have been lots of rumours that he has been a negative influence when things are not going well. I suspect he was the first name in the envelope.
Not by much. From what i’ve read there are lots of indian tourists. Chinese tourist numbers are down significantly due to lockdown. Not sure if Russians are going. Number of flights to Thailand have fallen. For example British airways are no longer flying direct. Eva air has only just restarted flights and not sure if Thai Air have started pre pandemic number of flights. Cost of flights is about double what it was. Thai tourism board has been talking up possibility of getting charter flights in December.
Leicester 216million in debt. Wow.
Who holds the debt, is that to the owners somehow, or 3rd party/bank?
It should help Leicester if they can’t make any signings, Kasper will be a loss though.
I know someone who works at the club very well and these rumours are very much true. Wasn’t always the nicest to staff either but the second the chairman was around he couldn’t do enough for you. Once he was gone, he’d treat people like dirt again.
The helicopter crash apparently saw a noticeable change in him but by then the reputation had stuck.
