Leicester, the Foxes thread

Didn’t realize he was a Leicester City supporter, but here is his comment from the Mercury on where to go from here. Not sweating his legal peril enough to give up football…

Bet he didnt have his own name in one of three envelopes at the start of the season.

Adam Sandler could be a good choice. All that Happy Gilmore experience. Oh, Sadler.

Jesse Marshe favourite apparently. That’s a really strange one.

Nice assist by Maddison for Bournemouth’s goal yesterday. Reminiscent of Stevie’s few times for Henry and Drogba.

#10 dropping that deep into midfield, sometimes shit happens.

To be honest they’ve dodged a bullet, not sure what Rafa would be like but he will improve them defensively you feel.

March is the one who walked away.

Probably wasn’t sure what the backing would be like, considering the lack of it Rodgers got last summer. That could turn out to be very dangerous from Leicester. Although of course, it was still a side on paper that shouldn’t have ended up in this position at this stage of season.

Rafa has less “time” than Marsch and he wants a decent job in England if he can get one. Might keep them up, but then it depends also if the backing will be like his first summer at Everton.

Leicester could be a good destination for Rafa. I would like to see him given a go there.

Aren’t they different styles of manager? I appreciate Leicester are probably just looking for an interim option but seems a little odd to see both linked.

Not sure why Marsch would walk. This isnt a bad job to have.

I dont know enough this version of Leicester, but it’s a possible limiation of being such a “philosophy” focused coach. Marsch is lucky to still be getting these phone calls and he has to know that one more failure and will leave him a long way back to a good job so he has to be careful to pick it carefully. If he looked at their players and saw challenges with them implementing his style then he’d be setting himself up for failure and so would be right to walk away. Someone like Rafa is instead going to walk in, evaluate what he has and then quickly get to fixing their flaws.

Probably ain’t getting better job offers, which is alright.

Don’t know if Leicester are also up for sale or open for new investors, but maybe it’s the best he can get now. Keep them up and see if he can have a more stable situation than at Everton.

Leicester look like going down. Only have had one period in the season where they racked up some points. If they go, Tielemans, Madisson gone and maybe some others go, too. They might be one of these clubs fighting for their place in the Championship this time next year.

They are a textbook case of the difficulty middling sides have when they struggle to replace an important player. Even last season Vardy at 35 was pushing 20 goals, and was supplemented by a similar amount from Maddison. This season age has finally caught up with Vardy leaving him on just 4, neither of the other options they have are reliable scorers of goals and Maddison has been suffering with injuries for most the season leaving him way down on goals

There is enough there to make a better side.

Rodgers had turned into the season here, you know Klopp did with the same team.
