LFC India thread

King and Cardinals (which was a teenage hangout place for me) has closed btw :frowning: , thatā€™s one bummer for me. That was a place you always felt would persist forever.

K&C was a regular hangout for me as well between 2001-2003 when I was doing my Inter at Narayana in Vittalvadi

I was at Ratna College from 2000-2002. Loads of childhood memories with that place.

Checked the rating on zomato for that place , it was a solid 4.6/5

This reminds me that i should possibly visit UB in secunderabad sometime if i go there , is it still the same or has the quality reduced ?

Its now Sarvi unfortunately

Classic from the missus - ā€˜I wonder if JĆ¼rgen likes spicy food?ā€™

:kissing_heart:

Ramzan period overā€¦ Hence haleem and eating frenzy also done.

Had the opportunity to go over to old city the previous week and have pathar ka gosht , shikampuri , haleem , paya and nihari in a rather midnightish food binge.

What? Thereā€™s at least two more days of Ramadan.

As in the last friday before ramadan. This is when the old city part of hyderabad gets very very crowded.

Ah, donā€™t you love those shitty Asian/Oceana leagues with goalkeepers that can concede when you have the ball in the centre circle

I had very good Briyani in Singapore but my Indian friends told me I never had Briyani if I never tasted the ones in Hyderabad. Really want to visit India one day. One of those countries that somehow I did not get to visit during the days of constant traveling

There is an Andhra restaurant in little India which had passable hyderabadi biryani. Amravati i think was the name.

Go.

It is the most amazing place. But you have to be prepared for anything. You will see the most beautiful things and the most terrible things, often right next to each other. You will experience every aspect of the human condition and be astounded at the resilience of the human spirit.

Itā€™s a life changing experience and I canā€™t wait to go back.

We used to go thereā€¦ Walkable distance from mustafa.

Funny thing that time in the 90s was when my Boysbrigade team took us to one indian resto around little india and the singaporean indians fellow students ate the tandoori roti as if it was a papad without ordering a curry.

Did have a good laugh as to how people were clueless about how to eat a roti though

Hope that changed right now

Being abroad for some time both during my growing up years and then during the working times.

India is in your faceā€¦ Be it w.r.t the cuisine or with respect to other parameters.

All countries have poverty and the less privileged just that in India its in the face kinda poverty. You cant miss it cause of the population size.

I do maintain that for people to enjoy what india is , they have got to come without any preconceptions and some care for their tummy.

That is strange, as a Chinese, I never would be able to eat any type of roti without a curry. But even then, the idea of curry for a Singaporean is pretty much different from what curry is in India. To me, curry is almost always spicy to varying levels, but my friend told me that is not true in India and when I wanted to bring them to eat ā€˜great Indian cuisineā€™ to eat Samys Curry Fish Headā€¦they were like hahaā€¦they have never heard of Curry Fish Head ever in Indiaā€¦
