Liverpool’s scouting staff is relatively small compared to a team like Man Uniteds. Players are rated between A-D. Most are between C-D due to high standards. D is not good enough, C is okay but must see more. Anything else is solid interest and an A is a transfer bid basically straight away but is very rare. Each scout covers 1-2 countries compared to other teams who have one scout per major city. Not sure why we don’t go mad but might be a quality over quantity thing. They travel around their respective countries and enter players on a database so Edwards/Ward/Ingeltorpe can view. Communication is not frequent so not to be standing on scouts toes adding pressure to find a quantity of players instead of finding the ideal one. Every detail is noted. Through inquiries made by scouts, family life’s, personalities are documented on these databases which effect decisions.
Dave Fallows - Head of Recruitment
Directs Scouts about, sending them to games to watch players etc. Nickname is Fingers given to him by Sam Allardyce or Daves wife. Reviews player performances also. Involved with Hunter with the City data leak in which we gave City one million pound to let slide.
Barry Hunter - Chief Scout
Watches players tapes sent in, often goes out to give final judgements before recommending to Alex Ingeltorpe (responsible for getting academy players) Edwards now Ward (responsible for signing senior players) Former Northern Irish international and manager of Rushden and Diamonds. Presume he has a good player map of Northern Ireland with his connections. Used to scout Italy during his time with Man City so must do similar here aswell. Was City’s go to man for Italian players even before Mancini, showing his skill level. Involved in Dzeko signing and others.
Dave Moss - Academy Chief Scout
Russ Richardson - Head of UK scouting
He spent eight years working at Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen having previously been chief scout at Bristol City. Richardson predominantly worked in England while with Aberdeen, and spotted a number of players in the lower leagues who were eventually moved on to other clubs for a profit.
Matthew Newberry - Senior Academy Scout
Former Birmingham Scout who takes responsibility for Academy recruitment.
Ian Barrigan - Head of Local Recruitment
(retired, not sure who has taken over, was the man who signed Trent etc). Scouts Liverpool and surrounding for pre academy talent.
Chris Wilkins - Senior Scout
English league scouting was at Spurs and Brentford etc.
Mike Crompton - Senior Scout
Worked at West Ham, FA, Northern Irish FA. Presume finds lads from England and NI.
Andy Sayer - Germany Scout
Discovered Firmino at Hoffenheim
Fernando Troiani/Gonzalo Siegriest - South America Scouting
Argentine Links working with their underaged teams. Scouted Ali Becker following a recommendation from John Achterberg and Hunter. Liverpool kept tabs on Ali for 6 years until we made our move.
Patrick Montgomery - Lead Scout and Recruitment analyst
Former Bournemouth scout who does a mix between performance analyst and finding players who suit certain metrics.
Paul Goldrick - Scout for Italy, Switzerland, Serbia and Croatia.
Andy O’Brien - North of England Scout
Former Newcastle player , responsible for Scouting Stephenson in our u18s from Sunderland and our recent u18 signing from Newcastle (forget name 
)
Mark Gower - South of England Scout
Former Swansea Player. Scouts south England.
