Does barely nothing to the Asia market - we might be talking 10’s of fans that are new to football in Asia that have watched this and decided to change to United - and good luck to them I say!
It’s a friendly, everyone knows it’s fitness that the matches are for.
Good run out for the team(s). Don’t think I’ve ever seen one team field 32 players in a single match.
Not against the idea of the friendly per se. Its not significant beyond the fitness side. But given the rivalry perhaps play a game first before this one to be better prepared…
Still quite surprised at how hard MU played…throwing bodies at shots and all…
What worries me is players attitudes not the coaching staff, instead of some treating it for what it is they start trying to push their body a bit more and it’s too pushed before it’s ready.
New manager. Playing to prove a point, be interesting to see what happens in their other fixtures
Weird they also play Villa and Melbourne they are out here for a fair bit.
Suppose my idea of pre season is playing teams you wouldn’t often play or would perhaps occasionally play in the CL, im not much of a fan of playing Man Utd and Palace when the equivalent is usually Tranmere and Blackburn.
I really hope the scum get carried away by this. It was like that villa game when we got stuffed. They could have back heeled it from the corner flag of their own half and it gone in. The scum don’t need any signings now so that will save em a few quid.
It was brilliant to see all these lads in action. The scoreline could easily have been different, but there was a lot of rustiness upfront, as well as failings in the press and individual errors which led to the four goals.
Nothing to worry about though, this is all about fitness, looking at all those young lads (never heard about some of them before today), in order to pick one or two of them as a complement for the squad next season. It’s about finding the feeling back for football, and of course, in this case, it’s about money. But it’s ok too… our fans in Thailand get the chance to see a match with their team live, it’s nice.
Not really a 4-0, but that’s how it goes sometimes in pre-season.
We hit the frame 3 times and Diaz bloody missed the ball on an open goal.
A lot of mistakes/spaces left open to defend, but a lot of positive things considering our principles. Between boxes, we were the better side for most of the game.
Phillips is a tragedy, just move him out of these games because nobody will sign him. Thank you fifty times for that half a season but I can’t wait to see him gone.
Mabaya attacked well a few times, but a mistake. Hendo and Gomez a bit weak for Fred’s lob. Thiago and Virgil weak for their fourth and probably ‘most normal’ goal on the day, was a good counter attack from them.
Thought Chambers, Morton and Elliott played well in the first side.
I said it already last season, I’m happy with Diaz overall, but going forward I think he’ll have to add more variety to his game, especially attacking in possession. He’s aggressive as f*ck, but I’d like him to be a little less wild and more composed, not always pick 1-2 same solutions, force those entries inside.
Hill is taller than the last time I saw him! Good to see him healthy after his big injury and energetic.
feel mega sorry for the Thai fans as I am sure they expected better from the players. I felt that the team lacked cohesion, compared to that shower of shite.
I hope it’s a ruse, that Klopp is playing on the PL.
feel down because I really hate that shower of shite of a club
Out of the kids I thought Mabaya in the first 30mins and Hill in the last both had some good moments. Prob a very good game and result for to start pre-season with, will help sharpen the focus.
