I feel like Ancelotti’s comments after the final about us being predictable were overblown as I doubt Klopp nor Pep have any expectation of taking teams by surprise, but this contrast between these two does add an interesting dynamic.
I didnt get to watch today, but I’m still interested in seeing how Mo adapts to Nunes being a more traditional CF.
I was just checking the youth thread. Unless there are two Bajcetics, apparently he was played as a centreback for a while. But I guess at that age you transition positions a lot.
Talking about centre backs, I don’t think Gvardiol played today did he? Would like to see these sort of touted future superstars in a full match instead of youtube compilations for once.
Darwin scored goals? How can this be? After reading Twitter, I was sure he would be a bust based on 60 minutes of pre-season football in Asia after joining us a week ago.
Unfortuntately missed this due to my sisters graduation celebration. So happy for Nunez to not just get off the mark, but to have such an impressive arrival game.
At 68mins (ish) in.the highlights he look SO happy and I hope this good moment lasts a very long time.
I actually find it intriguing that both teams have invested big money in a more orthodox CF. It appears that both Klopp/Pep have identified this as the natural progression of football. I personally (and hope that I am right) feel that our style is more adaptable to this change and also that Nunez is probably more flexible as a player - Don’t get me wrong i respect Haalands ability.
