It’s because he skitted at Harry Kane, Englands darling, a few years ago.
Small time FA.

I honestly think they should standardize the penalty process to stop the fucking around from cunts like Schmeichel and Kepa.
Although it often doesn’t pay off for them.
Or sometimes you win after making the wrong one?
I’ve watched those two penalties so many times, and Virgil and Fab couldn’t have done a better job of destroying Kepa had they sat down and worked it out beforehand.
The Fab one makes a show of him. The Virgil one undermines him. He doesn’t get anywhere near another one until the tenth.
The Virgil penalty in particular is masterful. The way he ignores the space that Kepa has offered him and just blasts the ball into the smaller space. The look back at him to emphasis the point.
Kepa is going to have nightmares about Van Dijk looking back at him with utter disdain for the rest of his life.
Haha, awesome. Everyone DO IT NOW. This should not be a suggestion.
I did it and was definitely not disappointed
I did, but don’t understand what’s special. The fireworks?
Yes.
Speaking as a keeper and watching them back I’d have probably gone just so slightly later, Kelleher and Kepa were going too early at times. Kepa probably saves Konate if he goes late.
Sure, but I dont see the point you’re trying to make.
When you see how beautifully he strikes the ball and how much he gets behind them, he really should be testing keepers a bit more often than he does. I’d love for him to be given the odd opportunity at a free kick situation where the ball is rolled to him to take out the wall and just leave him to welly it
As for the offsides I feel both but especially Lukaku’s would have been ok in the PL this season, the line is thicker than the one the league cup used it seems.
I thought it was a given when I saw the first repeat and actually did a fist pump when it wasn’t.
Yeah his penalty at time made me gasp but it’s brilliant, I think Salah and Trent’s are the two others that left absolutely no space in the goal. They were perfect.
How did you get the clip?
It’s a selfie
Well, from my point of view, I think making the change that Tuchel did is the wrong call.
Firstly, when you’re keeper has played an absolute blinder, was probably MOTM, and has just recently won the AFCON with Senegal via a shootout I don’t think there should be a concern that he isn’t up to it. He is an absolutely superb keeper and probably saves one on those last night.
Secondly, saving a sub for your keeper denies you an additional sub in injury time that could impact on your ability to win the game. In the second half of extra time we were hanging on. Throwing on someone like Callum Hudson-Adoi to run at our defence could be decisive, and you’ve got a superb keeper in the shootout if not.
Thirdly, it absolutely throws Kepa under the bus. It’s awful man-management. The lad is getting absolute pelters today. Being sent on as a ‘penalty specialist’ only to fail to save any of the eleven pens and the sky the decisive one is simply awful for him. Has Tuchel taken responsibility for the decision or attempted to take the heat of him. Even if it goes well for him the statement is ‘I’ll put you on for a shoot-out but I think you’re shit at everything else’.
I’ve seen it justified as ‘it worked for him in the World Club Cup’. Well, yeah. But that doesn’t mean it was the right decision, just as much as it blowing up in his face last night doesn’t mean it was the wrong decision.
The way to deal with a situation like that is to not look at whether it worked or didn’t work, but to consider the human and tactical basis for the decision. Kepa might be marginally better at pens statistically, but that doesn’t take into account the gamestate points and the man management of your two keepers.
They were technically brilliant, but the way Van Dijk and Fabinho used their pens to absolutely ruin Kepa was something else. Possibly didn’t have the technical precision of Trent and Mo’s but my god did they put that Keeper firmly in his place.
I had to go back and watch those pens because my stream cut out. Absolutely showed him up. You could tell he was dwelling on the Van Dijk glare the rest of the shootout
