Last season, Keita, Wijnaldum, Fabinho were up against Kroos, Modric, and Casemiro in the QF first leg in Spain. Keita was brilliant and Madrid couldn’t handle him, so they fouled him and forced him off with a back injury.
It’s not just Salah who has a score to settle.

I think you’re all overrating Real. City hammered them over both legs before they bottled it. As long as our CBs can keep Benzema under wraps, they can’t match us. We’re gonna smash them. Most comfortable game of the last 2 months

My understanding of the game against Real Madrid was Keita was taken off at half time because we were being dominated by the midfield of Real Madrid

Haha, I don’t think anyone noticed, but I see what you did there. Oh, no wait, nope, nope, I’m confused.
Few thoughts:
Haven’t seen Virg and Fabinho in a few games. Hopefully he is just resting and we are not going to start a rushed Virgil and Fab who isn’t 100% and ends up playing like so. If they ain’t right leave it imo.
Same will be said for Thiago tbh, all well and good getting him back for the final but he needs to be right.
Hopefully Mo’s goal against Wolves gave him that hurdle of no goals in a few games out of the way and now we can see the old Mo back for the biggest game of the season.
Konate was set to start imo. Maybe he still will if Virg is back to help him but that Wolves performance was very shaky and definitely is giving Jürgen an even bigger decision to make.

That’s my ideal team. I’ve a feeling Thiago won’t be fit enough though. If so Keita it is. Diogo has been poor lately and Diaz is too good not to start so that’s my reasoning. Konate over Matip to deal with Vinicius speed against Trent.

I think Virgil may play as he was on the bench against Wolves. I hope Fab is available based on Jurgen’s earlier comments. I seriously doubt Thiago will start. Maybe on the bench.
An outside the box option could be Bobby as a 10.

If you want to press Madrid there is no better option than Firmino and Klopp’s run it out twice now.
The issue with Madrid in the first Q Final was the makeshift defence if I remember it was all over the place.
Second leg we deserved to win, I wouldn’t read a lot into last season in any case.
Crowds certainly had an impact on us, along with Injuries. Also I’ve noted one of Ancelotti’s draws was that disgraceful Everton one and we went into that having lost 7-2 to Villa.
That’s crazy to think in itself.

If Thiago is ready on time, I don’t think he starts. He will come off the bench if anything. Probably on about 60’ if the game is still tight. It wouldn’t make sense to play him while the Real players are still fresh. Wait until they are worn down a bit.
