Liverpool vs Toulouse-Lautrec, Thursday 26th October, 20:00

Important game to win and gain control of group. Klopp will play a solid side IMO. I would think something like:

Trent-Matip-VVD-Gomez
Harvey-Curtis-Gravenberch
Mo-Darwin-Jota

Get a 2+ goal lead, and expect to see Quansah, Chambers, Doak, Cody, and either Diaz or Endo.

Three points here, and at least 1 there in two weeks time, puts us in firm control of the group.

It almost like you don’t know LFC. Should be an easy win but …

Don’t want to see Nunez starting. This pattern of him playing internationals, starting EL games and not being fit enough for the PL games needs to be broken.

We don’t need to win this. We can still get a result with a second team. Should be making plenty of changes here.

I think we should be aiming to win our home games.

With Jota and Diaz playing most of Thursday even is Gakpo is fit you’d expect him to start this.

Quansah has looked very composed in his appearances. Obviously I’ve been a fan of him for a long time but he’s settled into our first team quicker than I could have imagined. He deserves to start this one.

Both Quansah and Chambers started against Benfica B on Monday and both were subbed at half time. Calum Scanlon replaced Chambers to also play 45 minutes. I expect both will make the squad and possibly even start. Depending on how aggressive we go, could see Scanlon playing ahead of Chambers - he’s played there before. Kaide Gordon is also available again but I don’t think he will be considered to play - his reintroduction will likely be more gradual.

I think it will be…

Kelleher
Gomez Quansah van Dijk Chambers
Elliott Endo Jones
Gakpo Jota Scanlon

If not Scanlon then we are likely going to have to start one of the big guns - which I’m sure we would be fine doing.

We shouldn’t underestimate Toulouse and at least play Kelleher as keeper.

When is Conor Bradley back? He’s better than Tsimi

Isn’t he a right back?

Also he may well be but we’ve only really seen him play a few games for NI and Bolton.

And again he’s a right back.

10 game rule MH.

A certain amount of NI bias may be occurring

I’ve seen him a few times last year for NI and occasionally for Bolton and I thought he is a talent it’s just all I’ve had to go off
Probably not 10.

Was he playing left back?

Never, I think he played a few times slightly further forward but always on the right.

He seems a talent to be fair

Bradley is a RB, for Bolton he played as a RWB mostly with 3 CBs so was effectively more winger with a deep starting position.

For NI he plays as a more typical RB.

I haven’t seen him as a central midfielder before but I’ve seen lots of comments by coaches that he has the technical ability to do it.

I believe in pre-season he was playing the Alexander-Arnold role?

Klopp highlights:

Robbo had surgery - not sure how long he will be out.
Gapko in full training and available for squad
Bajčetić - not in team training

Toulouse deserves respect

A few changes (I think we guessed that - looks like Jones to captain)

Nunez had cramp on Saturday, hence Diaz starting.

I think that was it. He paid his respects to Bobby Charlton and Bill Kenwright as well.

I think Gakpo will get some minutes as a sub
