Losing the midriff "wobble" or the TAN diet/exercise thread

Nope. Whether it’s cycling , running or walking.

10km on the treadmill isn’t the same as 10km in real world conditions.

It’ll hurt, especially to start with. I have a choice of 2 basic routes. Both ways it starts with a descent into a valley before a climb back out. Roughly 3 miles of climbing in either direction, bugger all is flat. I think elevation wise I’m looking at 200m up in a climb.

Ok…so Tuesday night I went to a concert at Kentish Town forum and it was so hot in there i thought i was gonna pass out.

The next day around 11am i went rapidly downhill with the aches, shakes, shits and calfs were throbbing so much i couldnt walk.

I just laid on sofa all day as i ached from top to bottom. Im not sure if this is jab related as this happened a few months ago after going to pub. Seems if im in a room with lots of people and its hot i pick up a bug or covid.

Anyways by 10pm i started to feel better but i have no taste so i think its defo a bug as im sweating and still ache. Non of those are side effects.

2nd jab tonight. Weigh in tomorrow

Sounds nasty.

Pretty sure you’ll get a positive reading on the weigh in.

Yep, best weight loss approach I ever used was the dysentery I picked up in central america.

The results are in…

Last Friday 17st 2Ibs
This Friday 16st 5Ibs

So whats that? 10Ibs if 14Ibs in a stone?

I didnt eat much yesterday and had to get Imodium to stop the runs and feel OK today but feel jaded. The heat isn’t helping.

2nd Jab done last night at 9pm

Impressive even if illness helped it along.

More realistic weight loss this week after that huge loss last week.

Just under 2Ibs - its better to smaller over time. Was never going to lose another big chunk like last week.

No side affects other than after the Diarrhoea last week and 10 Imodium needed to stop it…I need a good clear out…Im bunged up.

Spoke to my mate who is a nurse and she said that last week - the Diarrhoea was the jab but it was worse as it coincided with me catching a virus so it felt worse.

My dad has the same thing as me now so there is something going around - he didnt catch it from me as Ive not seen him since Fathers Day.

Great stuff. Do you have a goal(s) in mind? And I guess more importantly what you do when you get there?

I want to lose between 2.5 and 3 stone.

I saw an interesting clip on YouTube where this Dr said - don’t see the Jab as a miracle cure and don’t think you don’t have to play your part.

The jab can assist you in cutting out cravings, filling you up quicker (so make sure food is high in protein) speeding up metabolism and giving you more energy - but you have to meet it half way by eating healthier, smaller portions, move more and do something even if only walking.

If you do all that then you will see consistent results and by doing that it will help continue to do this when you stop the jab.

I’ve not done that much moving this week but that’s because I was left so tired after 3 days of plops and virus I only started feeling normal again yesterday. Ive felt so drained.

It’s good to see that there’s stuff out that there that suggests that it isnt a miracle “pill” on its own. If it can help to set up better habits then that’s a good thing. Personally, I find the mental battle with this stuff and other things the biggest hurdle.

Understandable you’re still feeling crap too.

Just ordered 2nd lot of Jabs as I only have 1 left so best to order early.

Although I have seen a video on “the golden shot” which is what’s left after the 4 jabs - its technically enough for a 5th shot. The pen wont work after 4 shots so you have to get a syringe, take it out and then its OK to use. So I will look into that next week. If it don’t work at least ill have my new pen by then. But 5 jabs for price of 4 would be amazing.

I was talking to a nurse yesterday who is also on these jabs. She told me you only need to go to 5ml if you still get food cravings or think you’re hungry when on 2.5ml..if you aren’t getting that then it’s fine to stay on 2.5ml. Going up won’t make you lose weight or speed up metabolism any quicker. It’s purely if you think 2.5ml isn’t enough for your cravings to stop, so i have re-ordered 2.5ml as it will be easier to stop taking jab.
I read someone who was on 2.5ml for 18 weeks and counting so hopefully I will be like that.

I only weigh myself once a week in the morning - but i try not to take notice of the scales - i go on how my clothes fit. I had to take a Lacoste polo shirt back yesterday as i bought it 6 weeks ago and it was like a tent, For me, that’s all i need to boost my confidence.

I can tell I’ve lost weight though as my face isn’t puffy anymore and tops I’ve not worn for ages now fit and those that were loose before are very loose so cant wear them.

Weigh day Friday morning. Update to follow.

I’ll be interested in this.

Would it be better if I get on an excercise regiment before I take the jabs ?

I’ve been meaning to start running again. Would probably a 2-3 months of a running regiment suffice ?

You don’t have to do any exercise pre jab unless you want to.

When you take jab it speeds up metabolism and gives you energy. That combined with eating better but less often will help

You should be exercising anyway. The sooner you get something started there the better regardless of plans for the meds.

That’s what I figured. I can stand to lose a 15kg.

Pardon my ignorance, but aren’t these meant for extreme weight loss?

Like most meds there is indication creep as the more it is used the more is known for the cost/benefit for being used in different situations with different patients. To that point, weight loss was not even the initial indication, but treatment of the consequences of diabetes was. What we are now seeing is the downsides to this really are remarkably few and so people using it for more moderate weight loss when starting at a less clinically problematic point is really only a problem in terms of cost to the patient and supply.
