Luis DIAZ: 2023/24

Colombia manager Néstor Lorenzo revealed that Liverpool asked them “to take care” of Diaz:

“Luis Díaz is fine, we have dosed his load, we know well that he is coming from playing an overtime match. He plays a lot of minutes at Liverpool and they ask us to look after him. He is going to dose himself so that he is fine, but the player is fit .”

Went on to play him the full match :frowning:

Could mean something very different, especially in Colombia.

Seems only Argentina are aware these games are friendlies and there is no need to overplay.

I do wonder if we economic to try and get these lads out of these games because we know this happens and only Uruguay went yeah fine whatever.

After all wasn’t Gakpo supposed to have a twisted ankle.

This lad should be given back to the cartel.

With Edwards around it’s going cost them.

Barca aren’t probably coming near.

I’m wondering how much of that is visa-related. I’ve been wondering for a while now how he’s staying in the UK. As far as I’m aware, I don’t think he qualifies for a family visa.

He’s been like this for several seasons.

Only Madrid will be able to cough up enough for him to be fair.

I do think it’s somewhere Alonso might help if he comes.

Wasn’t aware. Thought it only started after the kidnapping.

Twice now he has mentioned it.

“We haven’t lost our hope yet”.

What a c**t that dad is.

Hopefully Edwards sends them both on their way.

Honestly, if it’s only been since the kidnapping, I can completely understand why he’d want that, again with regards to visas. If the father feels unsafe in Colombia, I don’t think it’s too unreasonable that the son might want to be able to move him somewhere else, which in this case can’t be the UK, not permanently.

I dont imagine his dad is working, so does he really need formal immigration? Can’t he just come on a visitor visa and bugger of to Spain or somehwere for a couple of days every couple of months?

Can’t he just shut up? He should show more respect for the way club treated his whole family during their dark days. Not to mention that his son isn’t having the best of seasons.

I’d like to see him get fucking weighed in next time he’s in the away end the short-arsed prick.

No, because the Border Force can just deem him to be using it as a way to live in the UK without a visa.

We probably paid that hostage release fee for him.

Can’t imagine the club letting Diaz pay it.

Also got him a private jet back.

Surely the club isn’t happy about that. Travels up with away fans now using his newly found fame the day.

Hopefully someone fills him in.

Yes I’m rattled by some old fella

So we’re advocating violence against our own players’ family members now?
Someone senior from the club needs to sit Diaz and his dad down and explain, calmly, what the situation is, what Luis’ focus should be, and how disrespectful and damaging such comments are.
That needs to happen asap.

Exactly. Thats what I was about to say.

Maybe Edwards can point at his contract and explain that he is Barca’s nemesis.

Ultimately I don’t think anyone will leave before the manager is involved with Edwards and Hughes and those discussions take place.

I don’t think it really matters what his Dad thinks.

We need unanimity. Tell his dad he can say what he wants once the season is over.
