Colombia manager Néstor Lorenzo revealed that Liverpool asked them “to take care” of Diaz:
“Luis Díaz is fine, we have dosed his load, we know well that he is coming from playing an overtime match. He plays a lot of minutes at Liverpool and they ask us to look after him. He is going to dose himself so that he is fine, but the player is fit .”
I’m wondering how much of that is visa-related. I’ve been wondering for a while now how he’s staying in the UK. As far as I’m aware, I don’t think he qualifies for a family visa.
Honestly, if it’s only been since the kidnapping, I can completely understand why he’d want that, again with regards to visas. If the father feels unsafe in Colombia, I don’t think it’s too unreasonable that the son might want to be able to move him somewhere else, which in this case can’t be the UK, not permanently.
I dont imagine his dad is working, so does he really need formal immigration? Can’t he just come on a visitor visa and bugger of to Spain or somehwere for a couple of days every couple of months?
Can’t he just shut up? He should show more respect for the way club treated his whole family during their dark days. Not to mention that his son isn’t having the best of seasons.
So we’re advocating violence against our own players’ family members now?
Someone senior from the club needs to sit Diaz and his dad down and explain, calmly, what the situation is, what Luis’ focus should be, and how disrespectful and damaging such comments are.
That needs to happen asap.
