Madness all around if this true.

Might help explain why we are so keen to land Wirtz though, and how he would fit?

Are you referring to Liverpool’s acceptance to sell him or that Saudis and Barcelona are willing to spend big on him?

I’m a bit concerned that there have been no links with his possible replacements but then again Wirtz came out of the blue, so…

How to say that you are skint without saying you are skint

I am pretty sure they tweeted the same last season. It feels familiar.

So as it stands we are selling Jota, Nunez and now Diaz. Maybe Gakpo.
Some summer this.

And Wirtz still hasnt opened his account for us. Is this what 120 odd million gets you these days? What a disaster

I am assuming you are stating this knowing fully the power of your words.

The other issue here is we could lose some good songs. Fortunately I am available and can find some gaps in my busy schedule if needed.

The covid shut downs weren’t that bad in retrospect

Barcelona would like him, but if they do not have the money too bad. The Saudis might like a quick deal before the club World Cup, so I would imagine this could happen quickly if it is them.

I don’t want Diaz to go and I wouldn’t engineer it or help him out the door, but if he is open to a move - and the personal post from his partner yesterday look like a bit of a goodbye to me - then for a tidy sum of money I would do the deal.

I would sign a young winger, someone like Malik Fofana, fast, with high potential, who would not expect to play all the time just yet. I think he can also see some action on both wings as he develops.

Gakpo is the main one who would hold it down from the left, if Diaz leaves, and we should also have Wirtz coming in, presumably to play the 10 role.

Depending on how it all pans out, we would be signing Frimpong, Kerkez, Wirtz, Fofana and probably a striker, assuming Nunez departs. 5 players.

Beyond that we might sign a central defender depending on what happens there, and there’s an outside chance of a midfielder, though that one is unlikely for me this summer, after all the other business.

Considering we wouldn’t want to sell they are going have to pay a lot of money.

And the Saudi clubs are like the rest they try and cheap skate.

Players like that won’t go in this short window it will be players like Trent and possibly De Bruyne.

Aren’t we trying to be as cheap as possible with Wirtz?

As you say, it’s what all clubs do.

I don’t think £120m is particularly cheap. I’m more expecting they could have Hendo for free and dragged out what should have been a straight forward.

Regardless point stands they will have to put something in. Go find having an argument with someone else.

Think 3 clubs in particular Al Hilal, Al Ittihad and Al Nassr are spoilt with cash. The rest I don’t think have the capacity to buy huge names from Europe. That’s where Bobby, Mane, Ronaldo, Benzema, Kante, Duran and others play.

Is he replacing Mane again or will the two of them bleed for Ronaldo?

:joy:

Most Saudi teams are PIF funded. Except a couple like Stevie’s team.

Is it our problem if Barcelona buys Diaz and finds that they can’t register him ?

We still get the money right ?
