Luis Diaz (LW) Barcelona

Yeah… we won’t see even half of it this summer.

What a year can do for apparently a “bargain” deal last summer.

I agree, you’d have to have no brain to think Koumas, Ngumoha or Chiesa could replace Diaz.

TIA say that Joyce says the club have not actively sought to move him on or indicated a desire to part ways, whilst also saying the club have not indicated they will be opening up contract discussions. Other sources say Diaz is happy to stay

With two years left on the deal, unless we are talking funny money, I would not want to see Luis leave, and if anything I’d hope a new deal is agreed, (even if just extending to 2028) ensuring we can still get a transfer fee next year or the year after, whilst also rewarding him with improved terms.

His numbers are too good, compared to other attackers in the team, for me to want to lose him. Would rather see Nunez, Chiesa and Jota move before him.

Can be also our stance in the public like “not for sale, not actively looking to sell”, but it still might happen if there’s an important offer and the player is interested.

Well every player has a price. The way some touts have been suggesting the price keeps falling to include a half dead cow and some beans from crops near Chernobyl

Tbf I think that’s more Barcelona releasing lower and lower potential buds to the press in the hopes we get fed up of hearing about it and agree.

“I’m sending a bid of…an out of date pack of quavers and a can of tizer”

Like on FM Id say it’s time to set auto-decline bids below stupid money and holiday past deadline day so we don’t have to deal with the spam

Tizer, Vimto, Dandelion and Burndock, Irn Bru…Americans will never understand this level of culinary sophistication.

A few months back my pub got Vimto on the post mix gun. Don’t know if we’ve sold any, but I’ve drunk a fucking shit ton of it.

We also stock Hooper’s alcoholic D&B, perfect for the sunny weather we’re having, but too sweet to have too many of.

Just wondering why PSG didnt go for Cherki all these days ? His stats comparison with other good midfielders is top notch. Still wondering whether we should sign him. Given that Diaz will be into his 30’s soon and we dont give a big contract to people above 30’s.

Mate.. Salah and VVD are exceptions. Salah did say in the interview that he didnt think he will get a contract at the start of last season.

My attempt at an answer is that PSG are loaded with athletes. They can all play and are all good on the ball too. Cherki can play and he is good on the ball as well, but I’m not 100% sure he is enough of an athlete to make a fella like Enrique want him in his team?

He’s 28. With two years left on his current deal. Could eaily get a new contract after this summer to stay with us another four or 5 years…

If Diaz signs a 5 year deal he would still be younger than Mo is now. All this talk about 30 is nonsensical nowadays.

I agree.. But looks like thats the policy we have adopted and Salah and VVD’s contracts are an exception for now. Hopefully thats not too rigid going forward. As Salah said in his interview he plans to go till 39-40  Wont be surprised if he gets another 2 years and he breaks the Alan Shearer’s goal scoring record.

Henderson was 31 when he signed his last contract with us. Milner had more than one contract with us through out his 30’s.

Age is only one factor determining whether a player gets a new contract - and it’s worth remembering there have been other players we were willing to keep around who simply chose to move on.

Presumably worth more to us playing at 10 bob per week than selling him and having to replace another forward.

I thought we might do this with Jota rather than Diaz, keep one of them around to reduce the upheaval in our summer transfers, and allow them to depart on a free in a few years if they’re unwilling to extend.

Diaz is the player I’d rather keep around, even if he’s not starting, as he just has that dogged determination and drive that can raise the intensity.

Then again, this may also make it clear to anyone that it has to be an absolutely astronomical offer before we’d even consider selling.
