Luis Diaz (LW) Bayern Munich

That’s 45% Income tax in Germany for those earning in the €100,000s. I just checked, and it is the same in England as well (higher in Scotland).

That is just the headline rate. I’m not sure what can or can’t be claimed back or accounted for differently.

Poor thing how does he cope?

Ultimately they can offer close to our price they are still 20m off. I don’t expect he will go before others do if he does.

But this does demonstrate he’s open to a new contract which is what I’ve been saying all along whether we want to upgrade that mind.

Tbf that’s been his stance the entire time. Earlier in the window, while with his national team, he mentioned he was happy to stay but was also in contact with other teams.

He doesn’t particularly care where that contract comes from; us, Barca (before they accepted they could only afford a loan of rashford), Bayern, somewhere else if any other club decides he’s worth the money. He just wants his last big footballing contract, and I think the growing noise over a move is him accepting he won’t get that here and deciding he wants to be somewhere he will get it.

He is trying to shake out a contract offer from us. The best time to rustle up interest in you from other clubs is when you are positioning yourself for that conversation.

No, Munich.

We do. Which is why some people are wondering if he might need to do something to make this happen if that’s what he really wants.

Personally I’d tell him he’s not for sale this summer but make a gentleman’s agreement to let him go next summer if some pays a certain amount. If Rashford’s loan goes badly he might get his dream to go to Barca then.

Yeah, I can’t help but think that he’d much rather Barcelona than Bayern, given the choice. That might be lazy stereotyping though.

If Konate stays & signs a new contract and we manage to get 80 million Euros for Diaz i am happy with all the great business we have done this season. Hearing lot of positive movements on Konate this morning that his priority is to sign a 200k deal.

I was reading something that Rashford became attractive to them because, for reasons I didnt fully understand but related to our friend “amortization”, the financial restrictions they are under makes it easier for them to register a new signing as a loan than as a permanent signing. Their issue may ease by next year but wont be over and so you’d imagine a 30 year old permanent signing for a position in which their Ballon D’or favourite currently plays would not be very attractive to them, and we sure as hell wont be sanctioning a loan move for Diaz next season.

If it’s about maximizing his earnings, probably at some point the Saudis will come in for him. There were rumors that Ronaldo asked his club to sign Diaz.

If it is about the sporting prospect, he won’t get better than here.

Bayern Munich will give him a big wage, better than here presumably, and probably comparable to what we would give him if we were inclined to put him on a new deal. But they are having a laugh with their negotiating, coming back again and again with tiny increases.

I can see both Diaz and Nunez going to the Saudis in decisive moves, once they come in for them. Let’s see what happens.

The only reason why Bayern can countenance a big money move for Diaz is that they know they can ship him to the Saudis if he doesn’t click on with them.

He still will have enough credit in the bank with what he’s done prior to his Liverpool career.

Rather like Mane. Whatever transfer price they do end up paying for Diaz , there’s a high chance they get a fair bit back.

Musiala will be out for a while, do they see Diaz as a replacement?

Highly doubtful. Musiala plays multiple roles.

They want Diaz to make a statement signing. Especially after missing out on Wirtz

Yup..Get the deal done.. Best for all parties as Diaz wants to go and we get a massive fee. Give Konate a new deal and get a winger

Nah. Push for 80m

But the thing i noticed with Edwards is he generally doesnt agree when they state its take it or leave it. Same happened with Coutinho. Think he will come to the negotiating table with this bid. Lets see. Depends on Diaz and he might officially send a transfer request.

Our valuation does have to be met. We value Diaz at close to 100m euros. Let them come close to that.

A viable sell on clause of 20% when they effectively move Diaz on will be the clincher.

At 28 years, Sell on Clause becomes meaningless. Think this deal entirely depends on how much Diaz pushes for the move. If he hands-in a transfer request i am sure we will negotiate with Bayern and get the deal done. The way its shaping up i guess thats how this will pan out.
