Luis Suarez (Luis Alberto Suarez)

I don’t remember any incident where Suarez was a bad influence to our team.

If you’re referring to the “biting” shenanigans, that was more of a media witch hunt, most likely driven by fan service since all rival fans hated Suarez. Frankly, English media is the worst in these sorts of things where they target an individual to ridiculous levels.

If you’re referring to the Evra incident, he was simply calling him “black” in Spanish. Its not the same word, the pronunciation is different. The fact that it was made to be something its not still boggles my mind.

Jurgen as much as admitted how highly he thought of Suarez when he was just on the bench when we played Atletico.

Hell of a difference between a saint and Suarez. We don’t want saints, we want combative players who operate just this side of the rules.

Were you here for the endless debate? I’m not going over it all again. In this country, you don’t refer to a person’s colour as an insult. Simple.

Yeah, whatever we want to call it. I don’t think Klopp would have an issue with Suarez. But like I said, I don’t think he would’ve stayed much longer anyway. He was too good for us at the time, deserved a side winning things every season.

I love people who state something as fact, when it is not fact

One of the players I said was a luxury we couldn’t afford. Selling him and using the money properly would have improved the team. Phil Cou a perfect example.

No, you don’t get this do you? I’m sure is not stating that it WOULD happen. I thought it would, I’m not saying it would. There’s a massive difference.

X will happen is not the same as I think X will happen.

I think it was more the media that drove Suarez out, hence why he’s never returned to England. Must’ve got sick at the sight always seeing his name in the headlines. But here’s a question for you all and I know Klopp never signed either but say we hadn’t signed Gakpo and we were looking for a new #9, would Klopp sign the Suarez at Ajax for 23m after seeing what he could do on the biggest stage and given the reputation he already had out in Holland OR does he sign this cheeky Brazilian chap for 29m based on what he produced at Hoffenheim with the thought that this guy could change the whole complexion of your typical #9 (and obviously not knowing how either would play out)

0h I get you alright

Suarez strikes me as someone who doesn’t give a damn about what English media of all people are saying/writing. Or that wasn’t the main reason why he left. Spanish media are potentially worse for him and his family. Though of course, he had his few incidents in England. His football trajectory was simply higher than ours at the time, he wanted a more successful team (like Coutinho), that’s it, no extra drama.

Or maybe he never saw the need to come back to England,

cos he was too busy playing for the best team in Europe wining leagues and champs League titles whilst playing in the sun

He could’ve done after Barca pushed him out.

Every player would be affected when it’s all you see, everywhere you go whether it’s with team mates, friends or family. It got to him and drove him out, we’ve seen how emotional he can be despite the tough skinned act he portrays on the outside. I don’t doubt he wanted a bigger challenge but it could’ve meant he stayed a season or 2 longer.

Nah, he was 27 when he left us. No time for 1-2 more years of Liverpool. At that time, Barca can get someone else and the chance is gone. Reasons were mainly sporting. He might be an emotional guy, but I didn’t see that bothering him too much, he performed and was only better with time. He outgrew us.

Sigh…

Why would a player that’s being hounded by the British press want to stay in England?

Oh, maybe it’s because of an ambition to play regularly in the Champions League and he didn’t give two shits what the press was writing.

He couldve…

but he didnt,

instead he moved to athletico Madrid and won the league title with them,

whilst playing in the sun…

The situation with Suarez was extremely unreliable and what he said and did over his Liverpool career created the rumours surrounding his departure. The discussion about his dickheadishness is completely unjustified as to be a dickhead you need to consistently do dickheadish things. I think maybe there was a missing thread in the screw that was loose, and all that being considered he left in the bracket of being one of the best, even though it was only part of his career. He was probably in the top 2 skill wise and was in the right bracket to be a great.

So in conclusion, I keep on getting hardon when I see new posts here, so take this bs to the former player thread.

Exactly, he didn’t want to come back to England because he knew the media would be out to get him again. He must’ve felt so relieved the moment he got out and knew he never had to face the British press again.

You mean the same country that you call someone a “fucking black cunt” and get banned with half the games Suarez got?
