I disagree with your assessment on Gomez, we can certain rely on Gomez to miss 3-4 months of the next campaign.

It’s hard to compare stats from different teams though. Our CBs have way higher passes and accuracy.

How do we compare speeds?

Guehi is a decent defender but weak with aerial ability.

Wasn’t the concensus that he was a dickhead? Or am I confusing him with another rumour?

If we can get him for a decent price, I can see why we’d be interested in him as a back up. Nice to replace a home grown option in the squad too if we are letting Quansah or Gomez go.

Yeah, I think he objected to rainbow laces or a rainbow armband on religious grounds.

Guehi would be a quality addition. Prem proven, but not sure how he’d fare in Europe. Anything over 40M is too much, mind.

Things I like about Guehi; personality (almost Kantesque, very humble and normal), ability to play both CB sides, pace, calmness on the ball, ability to cover anywhere in defence.

Short term he could push Konate and potentially replace him next summer if Ibou is set to go. Long term, he might be a better version of Gomez.

Pretty sure the club is well aware of his height and ability in the air, so let’s talk a bit deeper than the lazy “he’s short” shouts.

I can understand why he’d be high on our list of choices.

He wrote ‘I love jesus’ one time on the rainbow armband and ‘jesus loves you’ a second time. I can see why that would put people off him.

Yeah, you wanna steer clear of anyone who loves Jesus.

Arsenal fans are ok then?

Alisson, Bobby and tons of others say hello.

Firmino’s ceremony in Ali’s inside the house pool was one of the strangest things I ever saw.

That’s Brazilian Jesus, he blesses players to be able to play jogo bonita

English Jesus blesses players to be able to hoof a ball out of bounds and toss a kettle over a pub.

Very different

On a side note, didn’t our Brazilian lads all support Bolsonaro?

Arsenal fans don’t love anyone other than themselves. Y’unnastan?

 Less the sentiment and more where he decided to write the message I think but I also leave it to others to decide if that makes him an asshole or not. He won’t be the first or last very religious player we sign, if we do sign him.

I’m more than happy to have players with religious beliefs. I’m more than happy to accommodate any particular rituals that they may have. I draw the line at them disrespecting others beliefs and choices. Aside from anything, it shows a distinct lack of faith.

The question is whether he is worth it. The problem starts when individuals get themselves suspended or disrupt the rest of the squad.

Regards his aerial ability, he’d receive some protection in a back three, especially next to Virg and Ibou. We’re probably too scant of centre-backs for a back three to be the grand plan next season, but I see us rolling with it now and then.
