If he turns up and Slot looks at all 5’ 10" of him and says to Hughes, “I thought you said he was taller”…then we’re fucked
So…
Not a swap deal.
The price for both would be roughly the same.
Do swap deals have any impact on FFP? I’m assuming that the fees for Frimpong and Wirtz can be written off over 5 years, whereas a fee for Quansah would be straight into the bank.
Elliot’s price would be straight into the bank too. Unless there’s a sell on clause that Fulham has.
Yeah someone said on here it’s better to do them as separate deals.
I’ll leave that to the bean counters.
Still not a swap deal.
Two seperate transfers.
What you are suggesting is fantasy stuff. Those deals don’t happen anymore. As @RER has noted, the Quansah deal wasn’t included as makewight for Wirtz, or Frimpong.
What is a swap deal anyway? Surely technically they’re all separate deals?
They can do them as seperate transfers for accounting purposes.
But a 45m transfer fee for Guehi and a similar fee for Elliot. Tends to equate the transfer fee and the wage bill out.
The Palace fans I’ve seen talk about him couldn’t be any higher in their praise. They all think he’s absolutely incredible and has many more levels to go.
Holy shit as I live and breathe! Welcome back. Been buried with work so haven’t been on the forums but nice to see you around
This only has credibility if Elliot is available for transfer. If so, is Palace a viable destination? If so, are they prepared to paywhat he is valued at? If Guehi is a serious target, then why would we compromise the deal by introducing a totally seperate variable?
None of the suggestion has any place in the mechanics of modern transfers. Even if Elliot goes to Palce it will be a totally SEPERATE deal. For all manner of reasons.
Those “swap deals” are a thing of the past…Clive Allen for Kenny Sansom historic moments.
I do believe Elliot is available for transfer.
Someone make it stop…
Why do you want to argue on this ?
I take your point that there will be two seperate transfers and not a swap deal. It’s just that this probably serves all the parties well (provided Elliot’s keen on the deal)
Elliot has admitted that he would need to look elsewhere to play more football and that pathway for more football becomes more difficult with the addition of Wirtz.
There were links to Elliot and Leverkusen and those seem to have broken down. Doesn’t mean that Elliot isn’t keen on a transfer.
I’m not arguing.
You had a convenient thought about a swap deal. With so many factors mitigating against it that it is just silly.
I pointed out that these deals don’t happen. As in Quansah being sold separately to the Wirtz or Frimpong deals.
Thats the facts. No swap deal. Then you found ways of continuing a fantasy transfer for Elliot.
Let’s leave it there, shall we lads?
I would imagine it would just be the same. You’re still selling an asset for a specified value and buying another asset for a stated value, it’s just in one deal with one other party instead of two separate deals with two other parties?
