You have to remember this is the news 2 hours ago, it’s like that about Glasner saying he wouldn’t let him go if they didn’t get a player in. It was old news by the time it had been posted as it looked like they had.

Guehi is fit as a fiddle. I would imagine his medical will be a tap on the knee to check the reflex, and job’s a good un 
The real issue at Palace isn’t so much Igor signing, but the behind the scenes battle between Glasner and Parish. Any manager would want to keep his best player. And any owner at that level would want a transfer fee now to help financial stability, especially if the player is off for free next summer.
Even if Glasner temporarily gets his way, there is no loyalty in football. His star is rising, and he will move to a bigger club than Palace, regardless. I’m sure Parish knows that and will do what is best for Palace.
Speaking of which, is a loan for Joe Gomez completely off the table? Joyce talked about it two days ago and Liverpool said that was not currently being entertained. Well, we are now up against the deadline!
If Palace need a defender I would rather loan them Joe Gomez than see Gomez leave permanently for AC Milan for peanuts.

In the last two hours of the window you can submit a deal sheet which then gives you more time to complete the deal beyond the 7pm deadline (think it’s 2 hours so 9pm)

It’s an administrative thing. If the deal is agreed and you are working to complete it, there can be an extension to get the paperwork through. Not sure how long, I think just hours, but there is a grace period for that sort of thing.

Isn’t Pardew effectively still under contract at Newcastle on that ridiculous 8 year contract extension so maybe a tad biased
