Marc Guehi (CB) Crystal Palace

Risky move to keep Guehi and have him to go on a free just to avoid upsetting Glasner. He might leave for another job even if they keep Guehi.

Glasner might walk. But Palace have to ask themselves how locked in he is anyway. If he keeps doing well a bigger club will want him. He won’t show any loyalty to Palace at that point. Arguably he has done well enough already, and there’s a potential move to be made to Leverkusen right now, as they have sacked Ten Hag.

A club at Palace’s level should not face losing 35M due to the threat of a manager who is likely passing through anyway.

Not allowed in the same window we bought him

If Man Utd come calling in a month he will fuck off there anyhow.

You know I’m speaking the truth Parish

Yeah Amorim is a dead man walking at this point.

A bit like Thomas Frank playing his part in bringing Kelleher to Brentford only to leave 2 days later to manage spurs.

There’s a vacancy at Leverkusen after ten Hags sacking.

If Crystal Palace forgo 35M income to appease Glasner, they need some sort of loyalty from the manager locked in to that deal.

It will get messy, Glasner will go anyway, and Guehi, if he doesn’t move now, will probably come in January for 15M or next summer for free.

Yeah Glasner is also in his last contract year, he doesn’t care if Guehi walks for free

the fact that it’s taking this long, probably means Marc is not convinced on staying so Glasner is still trying.

Haha @WooltonRed

He could also get injured- nobody wishes that, and have his career spiral downwards.. One year is a long time in football.

This is why you have agents.

He seems to be more interested in the model professional narrative. That doesn’t always work…
