Mason Mount (Chelsea FC) CM/AM/LW

The bot is triggered when you spend half a billion quid. As for UEFA, do you think they read their mails?

No they’re not.

Really? They should be on that borderline now of needing to sell before they can buy, even with somewhat of a free pass they got last season. FFP is still there you know, clubs like City and Newcastle can just work around them easily.

Will Chelsea, owned by a consortium that will still at the end of the day be looking to make a profit, act like oil clubs? Can’t say I think so. They had pledged to spend 1.75 billion in ten years, which is now down to less than 1.25b in 9 years. Basically around 140m a season. Not overly huge by any margin in an age where Caicedo costs 80m.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised to find out that Bin Salman and PIF have billions invested in Clearlake.

Man Utd are understood to be refocusing on other targets as there is an “impasse” in their pursuit of Chelsea’s Mason Mount [Sky]

BREAKING : Manchester United have dropped interest in Mason Mount and are now preparing a bid for Moises Caicedo. @TimesSport @CFCPys

Utd with the famous scattergun approach to recruitment. What they need IMO is a ball playing midfielder. Someone to replace Erikson who can sit along side Casimro, and be the creative outlet from deeper. Their version of Kroos. Mount is not that player and neither is Caicedo.

De Jong is that player and he again looks like he could be available this summer, but he doesnt seem on their radar.

Are you trying to say Caicedo isn’t the logical next target after pursuing Mount?!?!?!

Their approach to transfers is spin the wheel.

At 8pm on deadline day. Makes our signing of Caroll look organised.

I’m sure they sign someone deadline day to give the fans something to gloat about.

You could sign 3-4 players but the pundits will literally beef up anyone signed by fax machine within the last hour.

Thank fuck we’ve dodged another bullet.

Precisely what alot of us always said, that the club has a sensible way of approaching transfers. Its not just about whether its 30m or 60m. It does not matter what the selling club thinks, its also what the buying club thinks the player is worth. 35m for Macalister is great value for a fantastic player. 35m for Mctominay is downright gutter shit. Same for Mount, paying 60m is downright shit, not that the player is necessarily bad but its not just good value. Of course when you go after flavours of the month, there will be bidding wars like we know when it comes to players like Bellingham and rightly, we don’t want to go into those. Some fans still do not understand that there will always be very good players available at a good value. The football world does not just have Bellinghams, Mbappes or Haalands.
