I would go further and say that’s not only the default position, but it’s in the ref’s (only) rules book in block capitals not to award any advantage to Liverpool if Salah is brought down anywhere on the pitch

Apparently there was some controversy in the Elliott penalty yesterday with some people arguing he bought the contact. I see Dale Johnson has explained this morning that it was totally legit (good) because Harvey has no responsibility to go out of his way to avoid the contact by hurdling the challenge, which he would have had to have done to avoid being brought down.
But this WAS the explanation given for why Mo’s was not a penalty when Dunk tripped him…that Mo chose to go over the outstretched leg even though to have avoided it would have required some parkour level acrobatics.
