Michael Car-wreck's at the wheel! It's the Manchester Untied thread

Did we? I would play 3 games for them to get 250k a week. I am 58 but would run way more than half of them.

Yep. Klopp wanted mason mount. We backed away because the salary demands and the transfer fee were exorbitant.

You’ll need to scroll down to the Mason mount thread.

You read it! Fair play.

It was one of the first few posts.

Based on a brief look, I’d suggest most (@Mascot an early outlier) on there were not fans of Mount.

There must have been a LOT of conversation about the link in another thread, because I definitely remember being involved in the conversation a lot more than I was in that thread and Sweeting’s comments definitely reference having already having said his piece over it and it being received critically.

Indykalia is busting out rumour amid the vacuum, but is shortlisting Conte Howe and Emery.

Emery would be a fool to leave what he is building at Villa. I’m expecting it to be Howe. Conte is the wasted shot that continues this merry go round.

I’m not sure how sustainable it is, they’ve continually spent big and routinely sail close to the financial fair play limits.

It’s sustainable if they consistently finish in the top 5. Emery is working wonders down there with low expectations. If he goes to United, the expectation to win stuff every season will crush him, not to mention their dogshit recruitment and outsized player power. He’d be an idiot to make that move.

Emery will not leave Villa. Howe is the perfect fit as he will agree with everything. Conte would either chnage them or leave after a month.

I dont think that is a good read of the Howe situation

His success at Newcastle was driven by very effective and rapid squad building in first few windows after the Saudi take over. Dan Ashworth arrived at Newcastle just a couple of months after Howe did and so was responsible for almost all of that, something he did while having to win a bit of a struggle for power against Howe. When Ashworth left, Newcastle’s transfer business went downhill not just in terms of spending poorly, but in ignoring the reality of the need to sell, reinvest and build in cycles. Performances on the pitch suffered correspondingly and the stress of it all forced Howe into essentially walking away.

Utd is everything that caused him to struggle at Newcastle turned up to 11.
