I know this might dampen the spirits of some people with an agenda to shade Mo for his words, but interesting translation of what he actually did say properly translated:
For someone who scored just in one game of his last 15 for club and country Mo Salah recently talks too much. Maybe he should start do his talking on the pitch again.
He talks too much.
He is selfish
He is all about money.
His agent is a cunt.
Sell him for ÂŁ500 million and buy
Bowen
Rafinha
Etc
EtcâŠ
The fucking level of disrespect in this thread is mind blowing.
We talk about recency bias when picking all time teams, best players.
We extend recency bias AGAINST a legend because he hasnât scored 50 goals since Christmas.
He is in his poorest vein of form in a while, hounded by media and constantly questioned about âthe contractâ.
Maybe, just maybe we, the greatest fans in the world âą could support one of our BEST EVER players.
We need him to be motivated for the team and not for himself. Heâs not doing himself any favours with recent comments thatâs bordering arrogance. Itâs not like him at all. Keep away from social media and do the talking on the pitch Mo.
Agree he has been phenomenal for us but we can still question him at this time in regards to his output and at the moment he canât talk from a position of strength. If I was the club, looking at his recent form I would have doubts about the length of the contract and what to offer him.
He should also put his agent in place with his snide little posts.
Exactly. Weâre on the cusp of something special this season. And even if we fall at the last hurdle in the FA Cup, league, and big ears, itâs been an amazing ride. Mo has been integral to this.
Iâm not saying he should be immune to criticism, but some narratives just seem absurd.
Even on his off days, he brings so much to the team. Take the Spurs game. Near the end, Spurs on one of their breaks, and Mo makes an 80 yard sprint to cover the right back area.
48 games, 30 goals (6 pens), 15 assists (plus on top of that, all the international games, where he has to run around like a headless chicken while his team do a Burnley style defence).
Yes, Since AFCON, there is a marked transition in quantifiable output. But thereâs four games left (two finals!). You play Mo. Simple as.
Itâs not really a âLiverpool thingâ to come out and say âIâm the best player in the world in my positionâ is it?
He is, by the way, but you sound a right muppet when you come out and say something like this about yourself, especially when his form has been below what we would expect from him.
For starters, look in any thread that says Curtis or Jones, or has the words Hendo or Henderson. And I love those 2, let that be clear. Im simply making a point. If someone says so much as they didnât play great, the Stan brigade is out in full force. Haha same goes Naby.
Also fascinating for me to read here and across the socials these new levels of whataboutism and âjustificationsâ for all these newfound opinions on Mo.
In relation to Moâs comments about him being the best in his position (not including Liverpool) as the full quote clarifies.
Seems the attitude of an elite athletic at the top of his game for a number of years. Granted heâs struggling a little right now but as the old adage goes, form is temporary, class is permanent.
I would bet every one of our players (regular starting xi) that they are the best in their position. Thatâs how it should be imo. This isnât underage football where playing for fun and development are the important factors and where ego has no place. This is top of the tree, elite level, high stakes competitive football.
To paraphrase couple of quotes, âit ainât bragging if you cf back it upâ and Ric Flairâs timeless, âto be the man, you gotta beat the man.â
Mo is the man (as frustrating as it is watching him currently!)
No Iâm asking you to post some evidence of your claim. You use Jones as an example, when the last game he started he was (incorrectly) commented on as playing poorly througout the in-game thread.
