Mohamed SALAH: 2021/22

I said Klopp had alluded to it that’s all , and that’s what he did in that interview. Clear enough for you ?

I think what is factoring itself into play here, is that it does not seem to be MO on his own anymore. More like MO with his dog turd tag team mate of an agent in close cahoots… which sours the taste somewhat when thinking of MO. What that agent did by liking the post that suggested Sadio wanted to go Bayern or Barcelona is the snidey act of someone that does not give a toss about LFC… The danger as the saying goes, that you can judge a person by the friends they keep… Just hope MO remains the humble guy we know and have come to love

I dont see anything in that article where Klopp says anything about the contract affecting Mo’s performance?

No he didn’t , that’s just my opinion about the effect it’s having on his form. All I said was that Klopp had alluded to the contract negotiations being an issue for him.

So just bullshit then.

Well it appears that any opinion that is contrary to your own must be bullshit , so yeah ok.

No, I deal in facts. Your opinion does not line up with the fact that the contract talks have been ongoing since the start of the season. The only point where a noticeable change can be said to have occurred is pre- and post-AFCON. Nothing about his contract talks changed around that time.

On the other hand, Jürgen did not even come close to saying that the contract talks were an issue for him in the context of his performance. You’re trying to make something up about it, claiming it in almost factual way but you have absolutely nothing to stand on.

What do you guys think.

  1. Try sell Mo if he doesn’t like contract and we won’t improve on it. Get some money, which always seems to be reinvested into squad.

  2. Keep him and let him run down his contract?

My only issue with option 2, is that we might have another year of he will sign, won’t sign, etc, etc. I don’t think it’s healthy to have this in the squad for such a high profile player.

If he won’t sign a new deal and an offer comes in that he likes, and we like, sell.

I’d rather move on and build with people who want to be here.

The power is with the player though. If he decides he wants to wind his deal down, and then see what offers materialize, he will be in for a massive signing bonus, plus hefty wages. At that point we continue in good relationship, knowing that another year of Mo will help our sporting objectives for next season, even if he would then leave on a free.

Option 2. No world cup. Salah fully rested. He’ll up his game even more with the cheaters buying Haaland. He’s a competitor and thrives on it.

It won’t effect on the pitch results at all. Klopp has built this squad to work 100% on the pitch together. Gini, Emre Can, Coutinho. All three of them were in option 2 situation. All three gave 100% (discounting the August shennanigans from Phil) in all the games to the very end.

If a player is affected by another’s contract situation, then they would be just the profile of a player that Man Utd seem to love. We on the other hand have players like Tsimi who will jump off the bench when we score just like a fan.

The only people it’s not healthy for are those in this forum that turn nasty when a player in their mind deigns to leave the club.

Yea if there is a move he wants and 150mil bid, I think we should sell him. Both sides have every right to hold for their best interest of course and ultimately we as the fans support the club, not just an individual. Hope this gets sorted out but not disappointed either way of him getting sold or running down his contract.

If it is Madrid, it has to be 180 million GBP and an additional Madrid Tax whenever they come shopping in our club…

I’m easy with either the club selling him now or letting him go for free. Ideally he’d extend his stay but I dont see it.
This issue we have is that Mane and Bobbys contract all end at the same time so we need to sort something out. Can’t have all 3 leave at same time.

If it went to option 2 would his playing time be phased out I wonder and he sits on the bench a lot more next season. Maybe get the best out of him while we can by evolving the team at the same time… Do think his options of moving somewhere else are becoming more limited as his age is not on his side for the wage demands he is purported to be asking for… Either way, for me, if wishes could be fishes :0)

Only sell for 100m+ and if we have signed a replacement

Thats fine. Assume he isnt signing a new deal and let him play.

I’ve got a slightly different take. If we’d won the league Id be more willing to sell him now (for 100m+). However getting so close again, it’s imperative that we come back next season and are on it in the league from game 1 so we build and sustain a gap to cheaty until they fold. Mo is vital for this especially as he should benefit from a Christmas break for a change. Hopefully we win the CL on Saturday but regardless next season we want to prioritise winning the PL and Mo will make this easier. Sure we may suffer in the medium term W/O the cash injection and game time to bed in another player but Jurgen and this squad deserve (and need) to win trophies now.

My preference would be to sell Mo this summer rather than let him leave on a free in 12 months.

I’ve sort of thought since he came in that Diaz has been brought in to replace Mo rather than to play alongside him.

No one person is bigger than the club.

If Madrid come in with stupid money (100m plus) then I think we sell him.

In reality though with 1 year in his contract I think we might be willing to accept closer to 70 million.
