I read his response as, I will be here next season and leave on a free unless I get what I want. He probably wonāt accept a sale if he is thinking along those lines.
I get that. I had started to think that way myself, with all the uncertainty I thought cashing in and replacing with one or two younger players started to sound like a good idea.
But now when I saw the quotes about him staying next season, I just thought great news. Good to have it settled, not having to wonder whatās going on, just leave it for now.

@norwegian_wood its only good news if Salah plays to the level he has in the past. since the turn of the year he hasnt come near to those standards.
i worry about what Salah we will see in the final year of his contract if he already has it in his head that he is leaving.
I doubt that thatās going to be the case- Mo appears to be a real professional- but if he does slack off, itās up to JĆ¼rgen to take the necessary action.
Plus he still needs to find a club if he leaves next summer. His choices may be more limited if heās half-arsing it, not scoring and is eventually benched.
Wouldnāt surprise me if we see the old Salah for this game and going forward.
