Mohamed SALAH: 2021/22

There is another aspect to this and that has been Jurgen’s tendency to leave Mo on the pitch if we need a goal no matter how badly he has been playing. I in no way think Jurgen is cowed by Mo’s ego, but he is savvy enough to know how to utilize it, and if he thinks playing an out of form Mo is a net benefit (to ward off dissatisfaction at coming off) then he’ll do that. If he has a player who is already on his way out of the door, will his calculation of that change? I said it as a joke a little while back about his time here ending with him mostly on the bench down the stretch of the season, but you don’t need too many things to fall in place to see it end like that.

Really it’s about the O’Jays… which I’ve always thought should be the basis for Mane’s song, but c’est la vie…

Mo Salah became the first player in premier league history to score a hatrick at old trafford.

lets pay him a Million a week then…

From today’s BBC gossip column:

Barcelona have told Liverpool 's Egypt forward Mohamed Salah, 29, he can join the club on a free transfer once his contract with the Reds expires next summer. (Mirror)

Which begs one question: where’s the Salah money coming from, Joan?

Barca have told Mo he can leave Liverpool once his contract expires? How graceful of them. Hope we send a message back to the same effect re Gabi etc. Stupid Catalan paupers

When did Barcelona get permission from Liverpool, to speak with Salah? It’s utter bollocks from the Mirror.

Or he could play out of his skin like Suarez did, and leave with our blessing

I really hope that happens. We had so many good years and it would be so sad if he leaves us bitter.

See, that looks better.

On vacation?

Egypt still has one AFCON qualifier and a friendly game.

Any words on his injury?

Nice six pack Mo. Mind you, I’ve got him beat with my keg.

If Mo stays next season and doesn’t sign a deal, there is a risk his level would drop and there would be more distraction with questions around his future, but I think he will get his head down and sign off with a bang.

Summer rest. Pre season. Goes hard until the World Cup. Enjoys an enforced mid season break. Replicates great form of first half of season in second half, chasing all the big prizes with LFC while also knocking out some of his personal goals (I’m old school and don’t care about that last part, but clearly that’s an important part of it for Mo too).

I think he will have a big season for us, and if it’s his last, so be it.

There is a risk with distraction, loss of form, heart not in it… but given Mo is such a consummate pro, I think a top season is more likely.

I’m less optimistic. Mo clearly struggled mentally after AFCON and I think there is a real risk that he could be thrown off balance again next season given his focus on his next move and personal goals. But nothing we can do about that and the hope remains that the season is setup for him to have two great halves and we can win the PL prize that we deserve.

Mo hasn’t been the same player for months. I’m afraid he’s heading out the door soon. Our Front three lineup looks to be over soon.

just build another one. Salah was a drifter before landing here. as was Mane and Bobby, lucky to play Europa League. But the right manager will get more from the right players. Diaz already looks the part as does Jota. Bobby wants to stay and we have Jones/Elliot available. Only takes one more piece and we’re knocking on the door again.

We know we cannot try to compete financially with Cheaty, have to do it differently. So we run Salah’s contract down and get someone new in the door to fill in the gaps.

Apparently he’s going to Barca.

I’d thank him for his service and wish him all the best, except when we eliminate him in the CL!
