Edited for accuracy, you are welcome.
If Egypt changed the flow of the Suez Canal along its west and southern borders, then I donāt see a problem with this idea.
Fantastic penalty, David Villaesque. Top of his foot, low and hard, couldnāt be more accurate. Arguably the best one he took so far, certainly in the top 3.
It is a fairly crap line of argument - neither Torres nor Suarez won a major trophy at LFC.
Yeah! all our other players are just crap, aināt it?
I remember some saying the same with Coutinho, itās replacing him thatās the issue whether that comes through one or others.
Still think he will sign.
I think the impasse is to do with Sadio.
Sadioās agent want Salah done first, as it gives them a new benchmark to set their demands against. Liverpool would really like to get Sadio done first, as they have with all the other big players.
Barry and his brotherās account Corbally, go out of their way to slag off FSG the club and players all the time. I think they set up a podcast earlier this year.
Not worth paying attention to as they are deliberate doom mongers, just looking for clicks.
ThƩ contract ramblings have been going in since the summer.
Whereas I agree they donāt get done over night they really shouldnāt take months either.
Hoping he signs
Suarez did, but yeah, itās not a great argument.
The whole club was in a different state. Now, weāre good, but we have to prove we can continue to be good and replace key figures when/if they leave for xy reasons.
More eyes will be on what happens in 2024 if Klopp leaves. And if we win more stuff until then, or it turns out to be āonlyā 1 year of trophies (our 4 under Klopp so far). Like it was with Rafa: 3 in a year, then zero until he left.
You know these are the days of our lives as LIverpool fans when we no longer think of the League Cup as a āmajor trophyā.
The thing with losing Salah is the restructuring it would cause.
We rely far too heavily on his goal contributions, his goals are celebrated but his assists are underappreciated.
Thereās not a right wing out there that could come in and replicate the contributions to scoring that Salah does.
So although, as a team, losing a single star player isnāt so much of a thing in theory. Losing that particular star player would mean a deficit being created on our scoring no matter how well we do replacing him. It would require more than just one in one out in his position to be changed to still compete.
Either the workman like nature of our midfield would need evolving to add goals from it (which might have knock on effects on other areas like defence) and/or the goal contributions for the attack need spreading out more (easiest solution would be a goal scoring 9 instead of a false 9 like Firmino). But either or both of those would dramatically change how the team is set up and performs.
Also I just am not as confident as I should be that the financial backing would be there for the required restructuring.
I think there would be far too much reliance on a few pick ups being magical Robertson, Jota and Fabinho types as opposed to Keita, Ox and Shaqiri types. Weāve got good recruitment but itād have to be damn near perfect for us to remain competing at the top during the rebuild which could well eat into some of Klopps final seasons here.
Crossing my fingers and praying to Fowler that this contract extension gets sealed!
How the fuck has Salah not been nominated for the FIFPRO team?
Mental
Dani Alves is ā¦
Obviously Iād prefer it if he signed a new contract, but heās going to leave one day and will need to be replaced.
As long as he didnāt leave for another Premier League club then Iād get over it.
I donāt get the impatience though. As long as he signs before summer great, if not, the powers that be need to decide to either cash in or let him leave at the end of his contract.
Either way Iād back Klopp to compete with a Mo-less Liverpool.
Has this been reported elsewhere? Or your own gut feeling on it?
Trying to be the next Goldbridge or AFTV?
Doesnāt matter how great Klopp is he needs the right tools. Look at the end of his Dortmund tenure. If we lose Salah itās not the act of losing Salah that is the problem in and of itself. But we are a finely balanced team and one of the biggest impacts to our success is our scoring. A large portion of that is down to Salah scoring or assisting. Take him out of the side and itāll be a lot more complicated than just bringing in a replacement. No matter who that is, they could be a really good player, but there will be a loss in terms of how many goals the team scores. So other changes need to be made at the same time. They need to be successful. There are other players that can be taken out and replacements put in for not much lost and possibly gained. Salah is one of the pillars that needs replacing by more than just another single pillar if we are staying up near the top.
Salah is a great player but Liverpool have been great before Salah and will be after Salah.
Klopp would still have Liverpool competing at the top without him.
