I have heard nothing at all about their interest in him. I’ve heard people float them as a destination should he leave, but none of this seems to be coming from Real’s perspective. Have they ever done a deal this big without having first tapped the fuck out of the player? The absence of that suggests Mo isnt on their radar. to me that means a move for him would only happen as a fall back face saving move if both Mbappe and Haaland are out of their grasp.
Yes, I meant if there is genuine interest. I don’t know enough about their squad to know whether there is actual space or interest for him. As far as I am aware, Rudiger, Haaland and Mbappe were their targets this summer.
They have a real gap on the right side of their attack, which is presumably what they are earmarking Mbappe for, but adding someone probably depends on how much deadwood they can shift (Bale, Hazard, Isco, Asensio).
Agree, he’s gone unless he signs before transfer season open. We are a FSG, not a PSG that can reject a €130M+ bid on a player that has less than 6 months left on his contract, nor can we allegedly threaten our opposition if we suffer humiliation. There is no such thing as a irreplaceable player.
He cost around £35m when we signed him 5 years ago. I think it’s fair to say he has repaid that with his performances since then. We just signed an impressive looking Diaz for about £45m. There are probably other equally talented players on our club’s radar at similar prices. We’ll cope if he leaves on a free transfer in 18 months time.
Mo needs to have a think about his agent (if that’s even what he is). The owners will tolerate a lot. They’ll negotiate back and forth. They’ll play fair by players, and will even let’s lads go on free contracts.
But they won’t tolerate dickhead agents trying to turn contract talks into a public, social media shitshow. They won’t tolerate that kind of disrespect. And if there is one figure at the club that the fans will turn on Mo over, it’s Jurgen Klopp.
They will be a point where FSG go fuck this. You can do one.
150m this summer or free the following season, not arsed about either option. We have to take the transition risk of our current players anyway, so I think the club holding on to their principles is right. I am sure, I hope at least, that the club has offered Salah the biggest contract of this club has ever offered and Salah has ever received, and they think they can get more, and they will, then I will support the club in holding to what has work well for us in the financial realms. Players will come and go but unfortunately the club needs healthy finances to continue operating so we cannot open the floodgates of breaking pay structure ceilings, even for a player like Salah.
If Mo is holding the club to ransom then let’s keep him for another year and let him go for free.
We still get another 18 months of him.
The only club he goes to is psg….an they are shit.
Barca or real cannot give him £500k a week and he won’t go to another English club.
So psg it is. Shit league where you’ll never be respected
Sign the deal Mo.
Sell him… keep him for another year… sign a new contract. We move on either way. He will always be the Egyptian king. A legend. If it goes tits up & there is a bullshit "he said she said"drama. It really doesn’t matter. LFC move on.
