Mohamed SALAH: 2021/22

Incredible news. Best news.

Very excite to hear Mo wants to remain here for rest of his career.

Wouldn’t it be typical of Indykalia to get something right on April Fools day

This will be amazing as I said I had reached a place I was happy with on this, whether he signed or not I just wanted him to be here for another year.

Hope it’s true as he is world class.

By his own high standards he has been a little off the boil lately, and understandably so. If the contract is resolved, that will be one big weight off. And the depth we have up front will also help him manage his minutes to recover top form for the run in.

A winner next week will be a lovely way to see that smile again.

Can’t wait until it’s official. Was worried that this would get ugly and be a distraction at the business end of a possibly historic season.

Would love it to be true but the express, star and mirror and not a single Liverpool based journo?

Just seen it’s the same guy John Richardson in each three papers, same story, owned by the same parent company and he’s the Newcastle journalist… hopefully just being cynical!

New contract will be announced on Friday in time for him to get a hattrick against City on the weekend.

The club needs to play a PR blinder here and announce this at the end of the week to give everybody a lift v City.

Mo hat trick incoming

No? Too lame?

I still find it odd as it’s against the narrative plus has dickhead chimed up yet?

TIA posted an article casting shade on reports of Salah’s impending contract renewal…but now the link has a 404 error!

Conspiracy or Sunday boredom?

Oh I’m taking it with a pitch of salt, the only people who know is Salah, the club, the agent and a few others.

I just find it a very odd thing to go with, especially carrying a name.

We’ll see.

Maybe he’s slowly realizing that our maximum offer is probably the best option for him right now.

Knocked out of everything with Egypt, not in great form, very possibly no signs of great interest from the market this summer, simply other top and much younger players going to places where he’d realistically go from here.

If he signs until 2025, physically I think he could do it in terms of consistency. He would be 33 years of age when that contract ends. 33 these days seems doable for someone who is physically a monster. But I don’t see his role changing, and maybe it won’t even have to. I don’t see him either as a classic right winger or a striker. He remains what he is as long as he’s here.

A little more than 3 years more with us could see him catch/overtake Liddell on the top goalscorers list. Could easily go past Owen, Kenny, Fowler and Stevie.

Have to say I’m surprised his agent hasn’t popped up to say a word, his silence in these cases makes me positive. Wonder if Salah had a word his reaction after Brighton pen was not one of someone who wanted to leave.

I’m at the same place I was though, great if he stays, if he goes I hope it’s in 2023 or after.

I think the way Diaz slotted in has made me more confident on the right track I have a feeling he won’t be the only big name this summer extending if he does.

But yeah if an agreement is in place there is little point not wasting time announcing it just to give us a boost.
