Mohamed SALAH: 2021/22

The best example I can give of this is Robbo “legally” roughing Messi up at Anfield.

Yes, this argument has been done to death, and you’re insane to think the referees will allow our players mouthing off to them…

No foul was given on Mo so if he stays down rolling around we are a player down!!!

Have noticed something Jota seems to be the only one of our players who stays down, they get up too easily sometimes.

No, nor am I. Fuck em!

I don’t mind the out of camera tap of appreciation to the opponent…after a weighty tackle…shows no malice between each other…but no pampering…get up…get on with it…

Yep, 9 out 10 occasions, they are feigning injury anyway.

It’s difficult to be something you’re not though. City, United, Atletico etc are full of bastards. They’re just being themselves. It’s frustrating (and unjust) when those willing to engage in dark arts get the better of us. But I guess that’s the trade-off from Klopp only signing good characters

Ye that is true, and I’m not suggestion we go full Simeone but we defo need to be more street wise to things

I just don’t think it’s in Klopp’s nature to have his players do that. He loves fair play and expects it from his team as well.

That’s fair enough…. We’re the naive ones for expecting in from opponents perhaps

I think there is a gap between fair and unfair, and I’d like us to live in that gap a bit more.

So, not being bastards, but not exactly making the opponent a cup of tea, while helping them to their feet either. You OK hun?

Get on with the game. Top athletes can probably stand up under their own power. And if we are fouled, and it takes a moment to get up, and the ref notices it more, fine.

I like fair play. I’m less a fan of naive play, if it gives a disadvantage. I like our approach, but the dial could be adjusted a little while still being fair.

A possible counterpoint might be that the less time we allow the opponent to roll around on the ground, the less likely the referee might be to feel pressured to issue a card for the challenge.

Bench him.

Thank you.

This season is shaping up to possibly be a once in a lifetime for the team and the fans yet his own season has become a struggle. I dunno, he has to come out of it eventually and if it happens between now and the end of the season it might just be that extra step that gets us over the line.

We’re winning without him and with him firing we will be nigh on unstoppable so I don’t think Klopp will bench him.

I think it’s ridiculously overblown. He’s been pretty much the same, just not scoring because he’s that tiny bit off at the moment. Think everyone’s been spoilt rotten by how incredible he’s been this season.

How do you get him back in goal scoring form? Keep playing him relentlessly until he scores, or play him off the bench?

Considering he’s doing everything else, including getting assists, I think it’s clear what the answer is.

He is creating chances I’m fine with that, the game where he tried to take himself on was a low but he has been better since.
