The online chatter I’ve seen is that it’s now down to Mo and Henry for the greatest ever PL player, that Utd Ronaldo is now a clear third.

I think Salah needs to give Slot big credit. His game has changed compared to last season. I haven’t checked the data yet, but I think Salah stays closer to the box now and conserves his energy more. In many games, it feels like he disappears for a while before suddenly scoring and assisting.

i know it wont go down to well in here, but to me hes playing with the freedom of a man who is enjoying his last lap of the PL with us…
it looks like a weight lifted off his shoulders and hes just enjoying the moment, and its playing out in his performances
i think hes leaving at the end of the season and just loving and savouring everyminute…and the team are reaping the rewards

I get the calls to give Salah what he desires and hand on heart I want for it to happen too.
It’s just that’s it’s not as straightforward as it appears. We’ve already been down this path with Henderson and Fabinho. We can’t afford to commit a 300k+ salary to someone who analytics and performance metrics may be suggesting that he’s about to lose his legs. Even if that someone is a legend, a top 3/5 player in our illustrious history.
For what’s worth, I do believe that something will be worked out and he’ll stay, but even if he doesn’t; after managing to find a worthy successor to Jurgen freaking Klopp, I trust the management team to make the right moves for us to remain competitive.
