The main thing here is that he does not want to come to us, and he’d rather go to Chelsea. The Jürgen quote where he said that he wants to sign players to push the train not jump into a moving one applies perfectly here. Usually this kind of players with terrible representation don’t become the best versions of themselves, so no use in breaking any transfer records for them.

Hope we (the club) have set them (Caicedo camp) a deadline (by midnight for example) and if they don’t agree with all our terms we put out a statement tomorrow morning that we end our interest.
This circus doesn’t help for our game on Sunday.

Just read this on one of TIAs articles, saying Brighton are furious with his agent, but reading into this comment it looks as though as far as Brighton are concerned he’s sold.

Or, there is currently a significant over reaction to the deal not being done yet because we have an unreasonable expectation for the speed in which complex things can get done.
How many days ago was it announced that Southampton and West Ham had agreed for fee for JWP? That deal is still being finalized.
