Moises Caicedo (DM/CM/RB) Brighton and Hove Albion

They cant afford both

They’re signing Caicedo, Lavia and Olise and whoever else and yes they can. I think the last 12 months would suggest so.

We don’t know if this is the player or the agent who is driving this talk of Chelsea only. Lots of reasons to assume it is agent driven.

As for the player, if he agreed terms with Chelsea in May, it is understandable if he wants to think about things now that his anticipated course might be changing.

If he comes to LFC we will smooth it all over and everything will be fine.

If he goes to Chelsea he clearly has a bad agent and it a bit of a money grabber himself :grinning:

I am not going to waste my time worrying about this transfer. What will be will be, it comes across as him being ill advised. It would not surprise me if there were hidden incentives for his agent to try and push him towards Chelsea, It happens in all types of business.

Regarding Caicedo as a player, we have seen from the Klopp tenure is that they do a lot of due diligence around the character/baggage of potential signings and I would assume, that given this may potentially be a British transfer record that they would have given this aspect a bit more scrutiny.

Edwards was a genius in transfer market. Pity he left us.

I will be more gutted in missing out on Lavia than Caceido!!

Why havent we withdrawn?

Sure, its definitely true that there are narratives going around that is fed to the press by some of the stakeholders here and we don’t know the whole truth here, but still looking at the people reporting on this there is Joyce, Reddy and Romano all going with the narrative that Caicedo wants Chelsea. So I think its not an overreaction to the whole issue to believe that we should not excpect him to sign for us.

Because the goal, if we are to miss out on the player, is to make Chelsea pay as much as possible on this deal. Withdrawing at this point would be stupid.

yeah, fuck Chelsea all the way.

I’m surprised that if he has told us he wants chelsea that we haven’t withdrawn from this.Maybe the reason we haven’t is that he has left the door open slightly which could suggest he wants to be convinced :moneybag: :moneybag: :moneybag: :moneybag:

Would be a bit odd especially with the Lavia stuff.

How does that help us though?

We go back to the drawing board and re-evaluate

Why would we?

Can we get back Milner/Hendo and Fab please… lol…They look like a steal for 50 million.

Because if they get Caicedo for a high price, they’ll have more difficulty to get Lavia, and it could open up the way for us.

I thought he wanted to come to us,doesn’t that make us the front runners?

Yeah, but if Chelsea aren’t there anymore to hijack the deal, we can discuss a reasonable fee with Southampton.
