The oddly specific amount of 111m would probably mean so. There could also be a case of them not being able to structure the deal (due to FFP) as Liverpool probably could. I think we are being able to offer them more upfront than Chelsea. Doesn’t matter if Chelsea offer them a total of 120m if the majority of the transfer fee is tied up in clauses and/or the payment terms is very little upfront in the first year.
Welcome to everyday Australia, mate.
Chelsea are probably considering if to go through with other deals or pull out and go all in for Caicedo. They have already pulled out of the Tyler Adams deal. Do they want to leave themselves short and go for Caicedo.
Last season, the first under a new owner, brought in players for €611m while they sold for €68m, which is a negative of €543m.
So far and that is without Caicedo or Lavia they brought if players for €207m and sold for €253m, which is a positive of €45m.
Over the last 2 seasons, they have a negative of almost €500m roughly £430m which can increase by £170 which makes it a £600m losses in transfer money. That is not good.
Can Brighton literally go to the PL and accuse Chelsea of tapping up??
That I’m not so sure of. The Adams deal was supposed to be 20 mil and they were trying to get Caicedo for 80. Since pulling out of the Adams deal the most they’ve bid for Caicedo is 100. Unless they can find wiggle room from a different source, before Brighton get the hump and tell Caicedo to fuck off, I don’t think they can go high enough. Obviously, I’m no expert. It just seems to me that their limit is around the 100 mark.
The way i look at it , even an increased offer by Chelsea can be rejected by Brighton if the additional clauses aren’t likely to be met.
We are probably gambling that their reported bid for Lavia is in place instead of going after Caicedo, as opposed to in conjunction with a bid for him. Based on the actions of Chelsea so far then signing both seems far-fetched.
Makes sense. They aren’t in a position where they can sign both Caicedo and Lavia. There’s bluster to try and make Liverpool wriggle out. FSG has been in this game a lot longer than Boehly.
You would have to wonder what reason they had for putting in a bid for Lavia then. Supposedly they have also had a bid for Olise from Crystal Palace excepted aswell. Could be all just speculation.
Tyler Adams for 20 isn’t a bad deal even considering his injury prone nature. We might want to trigger his release clause and sign him in the meanwhile.
I’m pretty sure we can afford signing him and still engage with signing Caicedo failing which Lavia
What if…
We sign Caicedo.
Will all of this be forgiven?
Maybe , but having just watched Klopp’s interview again, he says something along the lines of “we have certain agreements in place”…
As far I can see, we seem to be under the belief having our bid accepted by the selling club, that we should be the only one able at this point in time to talk to the player ( medical, personal terms etc) …Chelsea have basically caused issues with that from happening.
Honestly think it would be us lodging complaints to the premier league about this , and also if this deal falls through because of Chelsea, Jürgen is going to unleash like we haven’t seen for a while imo.

Who knows!!
More than likely Caicedo has been giving permission by Brighton to talk to Chelsea. They have been chasing him all summer.
@Walshy07 , how do you find these knowledgable guys ?
Slept in has he? It’s now lunchtime.
Oh good Lord Twitter just makes things worse and worse
Klopp came to him in a vision
But isn’t there a fine line on how far things can go?
I mean surely to give permission the presumption is you have met the asking price in the first place .
They haven’t , we have , so Brighton saying he can talk to Chelsea whilst rejecting all their bids and accepting ours makes no sense to me at least , since we have met all their demands apparently.
