Motorsports - F1, Superbikes etc

Just noticed that f1 was on. Somehow cant be bothered watching it.

It was a slightly below par spectacle tbh.
The overtaking was reasonable and the best driver performance over the weekend was rewarded,. Too many race contenders were out of contention by three quarters through the race though for it to be a classic.

I actually stayed up until 3am watching the race (did not plan to watch the race live). As a long suffering Ferrari fan, I love it!

What an impressive drive by Leclerc. The real hairy moment was the he went wide at the restart after the safety car. Verstrappen almost got him there.

Verstrappen wanted to take the fastest lap from Leclerc literally blew up in his face. Well play Ferrari, well play.

Russell lucked into the 3rd place with Max fried car and VSC pit stop. Right place at the right time. Hamster must be seething that he did not have such luck. TBF, both Merc drivers did well with the slightly inferior car and finished where they were.

Albon in the Williams almost drove the entire race on the same set of tires/tyres. Have to changed them in the last lap due to regulation and still managed to finish 10th. Well done.

Feel bad for Sainz that his good qualifying lap was chalked off due to red flag. Then had issues with the steering wheel before the race. Strategy with hard tires/tyres did not pen out. Ultimately bad luck and mistake took himself out after 2 laps. Would have been nice to see him getting some good points.

Still don’t know how these drivers at such high speed so much porpoising. As the commentator said yesterday…skippy. (Perfect place for it too! Haa)

Well done Albon.
Also, look at all the LFC kits that we won the PL in.

I was saying to the missus the other day, at what point does Daddy Stroll fuck his son off, who clearly doesn’t have the skills to be a success in F1. Is Lawrence one of these cut throat billionaire businessmen that doesn’t fuck about, or is his son an untouchable in his eyes, through rose tinted specs.

Sprint race is on right now.

Max down to second. Lewis and George going backwards.

Oops.

LeClerc binned Lauda’s Ferrari at the Historic Monaco Event.

Brake issue.

Looks like Mercedes are improving so they might start fighting it out at the front of the grid as the season progresses. If so, good. It hasn’t felt right watching Hamilton, at this stage of his career, fighting amongst the also rans.

Nürburgring 24 Hours is happening…

The usual Ferrari pit wall cocked up that cost the drivers good positions or wins.

No interest in F1 anymore … I wonder why

Because cars going round in circles for an hour and a half is fucking boring?

I agree but that did not stop them when Hamilton was winning :flushed::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Or because no one wants to read about Wolff and Hamster whined and moaned about Merc messed up their car design, and now wanting FIA to punish other teams for their slightly better overall designs?

Personally, I’m all for the rules being stuck to - if anyone exceeds the rules, they lose points, and if that means they lose a championship as a result, so be it.

Inflation has affected all of us normal folk - no ones changing the rules for us. F1 teams can cry arse all they want as far as I’m concerned.

@Dutch, that includes Merc, before you suggest my focus is on RBR, who of course have said they’re well within the cap anyway.

It’s what I watch if I"m struggling to fall asleep. Much better than counting sheep or reading a physics text book for the 100th time.

That’s because someone kept coming on here to criticise him which lead to others having to defend him! :stuck_out_tongue:
